NYCGPS Compression test for you !

1 Attachment(s)
Ok Guys/Gals. I will be running a compression test event @ either the May 26-27 Weekend, or June 2-3 Weekend, depends on Weather and my work schedule (so if it rains on May26, the event will be push to the next weekend, if it rains again ... another weekend)

What is this for?

I will be doing a few compression test for people using Mazda's compression Tester tool. There will be a charge/fee and trust me it will be MUCH lower than what Mazda charges. and for another few bucks, I can swap all spark plugs for you, great for those people who has no tools at home to do it himself/herself. If you don't have the Spark plugs, I have a load of them here and I just gonna charge you what I paid for them, which is roughly about 85 for 4 (we all loves NYC tax ...)

I'm starting it here first to see how many people are interested in this, I need at least 10 people to start this "event"

Mod, I'm not sure if I need to do a "group buy" thing cuz honestly I'm not "selling" anything ... I start this thread to see how many people are interested in doing this first, if there are enough people, then I will see :)

Almost forgot, I also have the Mazda's Vacuum Testing tool, most people have no idea what this is, but a vacuum test will also tell you how healthy your engine is. I can do it for another small charge. Final fee TBA, it will be less than 1/2 of what Mazda typically wants to charge you for :)

Oh by the way, This works for ALL Rotary Engine!(except the Vacuum test, which I think only works on Rx-8), so if you have a FD/FC/FB/SA22C/REPU/COSMO/Your plane(not recommended)/etc, just come !

First come first serve basis, if you register (and pay) first, you get the first spot, and so and so and so.

I expect each test to take around 15/mintues to 1/2 hour.

Location : I'm thinking of going to our regular local meet area, there is a big parking lot there, busy on weekends tho ... if anybody has a good place/big parking lot then let me know !

Yep, maybe something in the middle just for the test, then add another couple bux will remove/replace the other 2 Spark, and another couple of bux will do the Vacuum test.

Will do it only if there is about 10 people or more, and you guys will HAVE to send me the payment before hand, with your name, I will then print the list out and I will have to check your ID for verification purposes. (unless I know you already of course)

Come on People, don't you guys wanna know the health of ur engine? :)

LGukas 05-15-2012 01:10 PM

Count me in :) Where is the parking lot? I just wanna see how far from me is it.

stinksause 05-15-2012 01:50 PM

nycgps 05-17-2012 12:38 PM

Anybody? wow I'm shocked cuz I see all these people bitching about getting rip off by dealerships, now there is a way to do it at less than 1/2 the price and nobody is doing it ? :-\

Motomouse 05-17-2012 07:16 PM

I want to be on the list
Come on people!

stinksause 05-18-2012 12:45 AM

Compression test is like AIDS test ... people are scared

wcs 05-18-2012 04:41 AM

Bump
Come on people this is a great deal!

@nycgps
We had a Spring meet and I volunteered to do compression tests for those that wanted it.
I would have died if I did have two other members helping me.

One person was organizing and such, getting water, beer, making sure people had there wheel locks!

The other guy was Prepping the cars, and or doing compression tests as well.

I also made each person take off/on their own wheels, as there was no way I wanted to scratch some of those really expensive spokes out there.

ASH8 05-18-2012 04:58 AM

WOW..I can't believe the lack of responses...

Jackson's Compression Tester IS Mazda's GENUINE latest and greatest Tester for ALL Rotary Engines.

This is not a toy but the READ DEAL!.....

Even IF your RX-8 is just about to run out of warranty, what a great way of showing your Mazda Dealer that you need a new engine or are close to needing one....
you know you need this information for future reference.;)

wcs 05-18-2012 05:08 AM

Unless their wheels have really weird offset, I should have no problem keeping it and do the test. I keep my wheels on while replacing spark plugs :)

Meh. I mean I am not trying to make a few bux here (ok, maybe just a little) but hey, people would rather go dealership and pay 100s of dollars to do the test ? and sometimes they even do their test wrong. mmmm. I don't know man. Time is running out. if there is not enough respond by next friday then ... Sorry Motomouse! :(

ShellDude 05-18-2012 07:29 AM

Yeah, but like everyone else I really rather they just "tune" around it lol. I wouldn't mind getting up north with the NY/NJ guys for a change.

2 more days ... then I will have to ask you guys if you want to "extend the wait" for this, cancel, or everybody pay a few more bucks and continue :)

cuz it seems like no one is interested in doing a compression test? is it the time/date or location issues?

*I cannot do it this weekend because I'll be traveling for memorial day weekend. But if you do it on a different weekend I'm certainly in!!

Also, I would like to do the spark plugs too.

ShellDude 05-24-2012 10:13 PM

if the date gets extended past 6/9 (can't be 6/9) I would sign up just for the road trip.... will let ya do the test too nyc :)

nycgps 05-25-2012 04:41 AM

Well, It's Friday

mmmmMMmmmm

I know Motomouse is in a hurry to test his engine.

I don't know man, I mean for me, I'm perfectly fine for most of the weekends (unless otherwise notice)

You guys decide which day is best for you (Weekends only )

Well how about this? Push the date/time for another 2 weeks (to give people more time), to either the weekend of June 16th or June 23 ?

For those who wants to do it this week, I have to figure a place to do it because I completely forgot it's the memorial day weekend, the park I was thinking might not be available, I'm gonna be driving my 8 around today, and try to find a spot. Update later.

Motomouse 05-25-2012 04:13 PM

I was in a hurry because I would like to know the compression results before the dyno day on June 9th I hope they don't come to low. I am open for other weekends if I can't do it before the dyno.
Thanks

9krpmrx8 05-25-2012 04:15 PM

What a bunch of slackers. NYCGPS, why don't you come to SA for a vacation and I'll line up about 20 8's for compression tests, that shoudl pay for your trip.

nycgps 05-26-2012 04:36 AM

Yea I remember, Well as you can "See", not that many people interested in doing the test.

Let's just "wait" another week and see what happens?

if its still not as "good" after this memorial week. Probably gonna do it anyway just to help you guys. (if the weather is not as shitty as this week of course)

lol ! That actually sounds like a great idea. *HMMMMMMMMMM*

pistonhater 05-26-2012 09:37 AM

9krpmrx8: this is NYC man, craziest, busiest city in the world. Almost impossible to get people together to do anything, hahaha

nycgps: if you push it for two weekends that would be awesome. I'll send you a PM regarding spark plugs and a couple other things i need ;)

Motomouse 05-26-2012 10:55 AM

If anybody need new coils or wires I have one set new OEM Mazda.

Thanks nycgps.

Well, yes and no.

my friends overseas in Hong Kong, just had their RXClub 4th Anniversary dinner party today, couple dozen people attended, booked a party room and had fun. and Hong Kong is as busy if not actually "busier" than NYC.

so it's just the matter "do you appreciate the stuff that u have right now?"

in US automobiles are WAY too common, and when stuff is "common", most people will choose to ignored them. 50 years ago when driving is a luxury, people actually enjoy doing it, and wax/clean their car every week or so.

Now? Look at the Civic pic I posted earlier. No appreciation at all.

alright :)

nycgps 06-01-2012 08:23 PM

Well, well, Anybody?

This coming Sunday seems like a good day to do a compression test!

but if only 4 .. well I mean if you guys really want to do it then I don't mind, just trying to help out. We all know how much it cost to do a compression test at Mazda dealer :)

LMK what you guys want. Postpone ? a week? a month ? Do it anyway? VOTE!

Motomouse 06-01-2012 08:49 PM

I can do it on Sunday if others are ok

nycgps 06-02-2012 05:58 PM

shit, no one is even checking this?

I'm so surprised that no one in NYC wanna do a compression test other than a few of us ...

Well, I don't know Motomouse, you still want to do it ? I'm in Queens so it's roughly an hour drive for you, zip code 11375

JWeave16 06-02-2012 06:27 PM
