NOVA snow hurray!!

and it's awesome getting stuck it in already!!!!

decent dusting on all the roads, saw 3 accidents already in 2 mile trip from home to McD's and back...

Car doesn't like dustings and I hate the f'ing tracktion control now....damn thing gives NO play at all. Thing starts to slide and WHAM, violent lock up of the rear wheel....thanks Mazda. Think I'd rather just the Anti-lock brakes and no DSC.

Frist time I've ever had the car out in the snow BTW. lucked out last winter as my wife is a teacher and never had to go in when it snowed or was snowing.

What tires are you running? Summer tires are not designed to be used in the cold. A good set of winter/snow tires will help you out a lot.

Driving in the snow takes practice and uses a different driving style. Lucky for me I grew up in NJ with lots of snow and when I was on my learners permit my dad taught me how to drive in the snow. It will take time to learn in to dirve in the snow.

First snow experience for my 8. I put Bridgestone all-seasons on it last year, but until recently I had an Accord beater to use in grungy conditons.

I returned from a trip, landing at Dulles airport around 5:00. Snow in the exit area of Parking Garage 1 was pretty slippery. It was fun having the ABS and DSC kick in. Just kind of a buzzing vibration, not the violent ratcheting I get when I overcook it cornering on wet roads.

Zoomy did just fine through the neighborhoods. My driveway is uphill, and was also slick, but the DSC feathered the traction nicely and I had no problems.

I just wish the dealer had been topping off the windshield fluid with winter blend, rather than freezable summer stuff.

Ken
