NJ meeting/help
So yea I just got my RX8 and am still a bit rusty with the shifting. I was wondering if anyone wanted to meet up one day and go through some of the little things with me
sorry to burst a bubble or two but im a guy. im busy this saturday but if someone wants to meet up this thurs or friday, that'd be awesome. i'm able to get around for the most part but i dont know if im doing stuff right or wrong and the slight smell of burning clutch when i park isnt the best scent
it might be cuz your car is brand new? the clutch sometimes gives off a scent here and there when it's new. i'm in fort lee so i can meet up with u guys if ur still meeting.
argh i couldn't go to the flemington meet cuz i slept til 2 pm haha.

I'll be at Aviation Plaza tonight, probably 9-11pm, on route 1/9/Edgar. I get over that way a couple times a week. Or, if you want, you can swing out my way (exit 40 off 80) and you can get some driving done without traffic on your ***. I have a couple office complexes with long through roads that I drive on when I get the chance just to have some fun.
Oh - and when I first started driving the 8, I noticed that some of my shifts at light duty, particularly 1st to second, were not very smooth. I started working the clutch with more feather and that leads to more rub. If you start getting on the gas before the clutch/flywheel have mated, you will burn your clutch some. The key is to match your revs which takes some thought and mostly practice.
