Talking New to the Forum*Pics of Previous Cars*, Looking to Buy an RX-8

Hey everyone, i jsut signed up yesterday although i have been browsing the forum for a couple weeks now gathering information and i think its time for me to sign up and actually get invovled...

My Story:

Coming from Toyota/Scion family ive owned a Celica GT-S totaled that and this past easter sunday i totaled my Turbo Scion TC that had quick a bit of work done to it, so the search was on for a new car, looking at everything it took me a month to narrow it down to an Acura TL, and Mazda RX-8

well i never drove an RX--8 before and heard all the stories how they lack torque, slow, etc and you know thats not a huge deal to me and ohhh stay away from Rotary engines like they are made of glass or something.... So the research began...ive always been highly invovled in modifying my cars and doing my own work on my cars,

my first car the Celica GT-s was a complete show car i started when i was 15 years old was young and my taste shows

next was a scion tc then i went the complete opposite direction and wanted a clean aggressive FAST car, which i eventually built only to see if fall to a stump on the side of the road

sooooo im coming from Scionlife.org, Newcelica.org, and my local forum Tristatetuners.com

Ive been looking to buy and RX-8 now and test drove a couple and fell in love the problem is finding one at a dealership with low miles that im looking for, for the right price, seems dealerships mark these things up quite a bit and seem to not be budging at all on the price which seems strange to me given the recent economy and what not i figured i would get the best deal right now, however, i made offers on cars and dealers would not give me a 1 grand leeway

any who end of rant

Turbo Panda Scion TC *totaled 4/12/09*:

Celica GT-S *Totaled 3/2/07* I WAS 15 So the Ricer in me Shows, however all parts where top quality, had a nasty suspension setup

they may just be into them more than that. wholesale value for an 05 6spd with 50k is around 12k. So it's likely they're into it for at least 12.5 or 13.

Used car managers just trying to get deals done end up with lots of overpriced stuff on their lots. consequently, they don't stay around too long.

You are going to want to stay away from auto...especially coming from an FI car. The auto is a slug. I'm surprised they aren't budging on price....check Mazda stealerships, they will probably work with you more on the price. You can also check out the FS section

Also, realize this car does not respond well to mods. Check out the performance section because you seem like you would be interested in modding it.

Just be patient and don't rush it. Also check to make sure all the TSBs are up to date and check the car fax. Close attention needs to be paid to the maintenance in this car.

This doesn't relate to just me finding my RX-8.

I remember when my brother was looking for his first car (3000GT). He opened his search from like a 50 mile radius to 75 mile radius. He found the one he wanted. Just keep searching and expand your area.

6speed is a plus. I would recommend having the car for some time before doing any modifications. Understand what is so special about the RX-8 before you create your own beast.

my area is 100 mile radius, ive been doing research on these cars and im trying to be patient i mean im very picky with my cars and **** i guess you could say, i would definitly get a compression check before i purchased one and trying to learn the most about these 1.3L rotaries as i can...

as for above that is not my car that is a friend of mine who recently blew his motor and sold his turbo kit, but looks quite similiar with a different turbo kit and full CF lip kit and Hood...

i would post pictures im still familiarizing my self with the forum here and cant see like a welcome or new member section

In the group buy section (top of forum) there is a group buy for a personal compression tester...that may help with your search and it would be a great tool to keep.

Hey man, PM me the car you're looking for... I live in your area and have the in's when it comes to finding cars... PM me color choice, mileage (with in reason), interior color, obviously 6 speed, and trim package... I'll see what I can dig up. This is a dead serious offer. Rotr8 will tell you I am respectable and not joking. I'm assuming ~13k is your limit? Let me know.
