Registration is open from 7:30am to 9:00am*
Tech inspection is open from 7:15am to 9:15am*
Course open for walking at 8:00am
Mandatory Driver's meeting at 9:30am
Novice Course walkthrough at 9:45am
First car off at 10:00am
If you're going to reserve spaces for the RX8 crew, I'd suggest doing so about 1/2 way down the paddock area, or further to the back because spots fill up very quickly and space will be limited. (Read: people don't like it when many spots to the front are reserved and go unused)
I'm not an offical of the event, but just suggesting. I woud suggest the area to the right as you enter.
Also note: Passengers are not allowed unless you're with an instructor, and this goes with friends and spectators. Also, it's up to the event chair if a passenger can go with an instructor, usually, it's just those competeing. Just a heads up that it might not be possible unless you're competing. Also the fact that i fyou arrive later, those that would allow a passenger could have already run for the day.
Last bit: Pictures.... you guys are welcome to go out on the course (there's a big grassy area in the middle of the course), as long as you have someone with you as a spotter, and you notify the safety steward beforehand. Otherwise, all pics need to be done in the spectator area.
Enjoy the day! It's really a whle bunch of fun and those that don't run will be kicking themselves after watching a few cars wishing they had gone out and run. :D

I'm going to opt out this time around. The idea of a 7am-5pm stint in the Fitchburg area, low 40s, drizzle, etc. doesn't do it for me, and esp. the wife... even if i might get to drive crazy 2 or 3 times around the course.
So hopefully catch you guys at another one when (and if) Spring actually shows its face.
have fun all!

Auto-xing in the rain should be done by everyone becuase it shows what will happen to your car in the rain on the highway, at side road, highway speeds. It's the safest place to practice car control....
You're missing out on more than if it were dry if you allow yourself to be turned away due to rain.... and ayer is a different beast in weather for some reason.
I would say leave the option there to go, and come sat night make the decison... it is New England afterall.

HAHAHA......yep.
My older son already knows the sound a bridgeported rotary makes at idle....that's how he plays with his cars...hahaha
Every car is a rotary. He even whispers the "Zoom Zoom" part after he says Mazda.

They are forecasting a mix of rain and snow for Saturday & Sunday where I live (2 hours North of Boston) but if the roads are clear I'll be there.

I was bad this morning and couldn't get myself out of bed in time to drive down to the event. It sucks living 2 hours away from everything.

The rain was wet... but it was a very light rain compared to some of the deluges we get at Devens. So it wasn't that bad. Heck, my socks in my sneakers didn't even get wet.
Would have been nice meeting up with you guys... but there's more events this year. Next one is in Louden at NHIS on the 18th of April.

You all missed the chance to romp on all the S2000's. Since it was wet the one regular S2000 decided on street tires instead of Hoosiers.
The closest S2000 was .7 seconds behind me.
The morning rain wasn't too bad. It stopped in the middle of the 3rd heat, and didn't start until trophy time.
Loosing that hour of sleep for Daylight Savings Time sucks.

Oohhhhh! Maybe all us no-shows could try and do a make-up class there . What is the agenda for this, similar to last weekend? Anyone else interested?
The major difference is that non-competors pay $5 to get through the gate. ( NHIS rules I believe. )

Mark,
Nice job on beating out the S2000. That's something I would have liked to have seen. Hopefully I can make it to the next one at NHIS.

I'd like to try too but my 8 still feels new, I just can't bear to drive it hard like that.
Been having fun ever since.
