^ lol funny picture... I know even the same mods on the same cars can yield different results from the same tuner. My idea isnt really about comparison or building a car similar car that anyone has here its about showcase and a similar place like rx8club.com.

well the other thing is our dyno sheets are gonna look nothing like any other car because its a rotary so even talking about it might be complicated with other people

however, whenever i find my dyno sheet ill scan it and post it up for you

do you guys think you could help me out when my moms house sells?

After it sells ill be looking for a FD and have no idea what to look for in FD's, ill pay you to come along.

Do you think its worth waiting for a chaste white to pop up, or get one in whatever color and paint it? I plan on keeping it a 90% track car/ hobby car and maybe drive it in the summer.

reliability mods->coilovers->exhaust->rotors+pads->evo2's->re-a diffuser->AdvanRS->shine fenders and bumper-> etc etc. Thats probably what i plan on doing to it. If one of you guys who knows what theyre doing or owns a fd could come along that would be super cool of you :D

O man you are fucked. Do you have some cash saved up?

IMO, unless you are looking for resale value, I'd just buy a black FD and paint it whatever color you want. I think if you find a CW FD with nice paint it's going to cost you a pretty penny anyway.

let me no when you wanna look at some, i think im not to far from you

but if your gonna make it a priority track car i wouldnt worry so much about paint, kicked up rocks and the occasional wall will prevent it from staying nice long

and ur gonna need an exhaust before coilovers

you can shoot me a pm if you have any specific questions, ive been fighting my FD for a couple years now

hah :p funny comments ^^^

Once my mom sells her house she told me shes going to pay for one for me and ill keep my 8 as a daily.

plus i have a few grand saved up for upgrades but i think she will part with about 5k after the sale -__-

Im not really mechanically inclined, but i have a really good friend down in FL who has owned a drift fc and went to UTI. He can probly diagnose most things that i couldnt myself. Im never backing down from owning a FD, ive always looked up to them and dreamed about owning one, would have gotten one instead of the 8 but i needed something more... reliable for more than 2 days.

Saw a CYM in the parking deck today and just stopped my car and stared for a few minutes.

If my fd is a abusive wife ill never leave her.

its more like a wife with cancer, there will be fights, depression, shes gonna be sick all the time, and you only really get a few good days with her

plus 5 grand is gonna get you either a crappy automatic or a car with no drivetrain

im not going to push it, im keeping it at 300hp tops. If i decide to make it a track car i know what will happen. i might just keep it as a summer weekend car.

Id rather spend the money fixing it than buying a new car. The FD a seductress.

lol, let me put it to you this way, ive replaced the entire drive train, the turbos twice, and both front hubs and i have yet to go to the track and my peak was 360whp which i barely used i kept it on low boost which was a cool 320

things will break no matter what hp your running, its just the way it is, and if you never push her then whats the point? pretty cars look just as pretty at 1:14 scale and cost a lot less

im not saying that cuz i dont want you to get the car, i could care less, hell ill help you find one if you want its not my money

just be prepared for things to go wrong very quickly and unexpectedly and if anyone tells you different then they dont drive their car

Well lets break it down more for you. 18k will buy you an already built fd. if you want to mod it and start from scratch and make it your own FD you can get a good starting base for 10k. if you pay more with this economy make sure to bring your dunce cap a long.

you want only 300whp? thats a joke. ill raise the bs flag. lets put it this way. all fd owners. rough numbers.
Dave. started at 320 seq then ~360 non seq now upgrading to single? hmm
Dennis 340 then to 380 now trying to push 18psi??? hmmm
Andy seq spirit r. 320-350? way too cool to mod it faster so he bought another 7 to throw a ls in it....... HMMMMMMM
I started at 320, swore id be happy with 350 seq. then shot for 400 fell short and made about 365? last a season shooting for 500whp. problems. now i want 550. and god as my witness thats more hp then i will ever know what to do with.

The thing with the FD is hp is so cheap and easy to come by compared to majority of the cars. you will always want more. especially if youre a fool and hang out with FD's.

You better start learning how to work on your fd otherwise you will need that 5 grand saved JUST for when your engine blows. it will happen. they are a PROJECT car, its 23-24 years old, everything is worn out. if you want a minty fd, you will have to pay to play.

None of us are telling you not to get the car, just preface warning. dont say we didnt tell you so =)

FD= financial disaster ask any of us. another reason why my fd went untouched for 3 months.

really 10k for a stock fd? i havnt seen one that low, ever lol. i thought the going was 12-15 for a stock and 15-18 for reliability mods.

Do you know how much it is to make a roller into a non roller? ive seen rollers go 6-9k

Btw i appreciate all of your guys advice

Realistically i will probably only get reliability mods/ exhaust/intake/coilovers/rims/shine kit/diffuser.

Realistically i will probably only bring it to the track a handful of times, and the rest of the time it will be garaged / sunday driven to meets /being brought back to life for meets

im probably too far gone by now anyway. and hey, maybe the 16X will be more reliable and ill drop that bitch in.
