Where did you get the build done from? what about choice of apex seals?

 

My apex seals were flattened out so i was losing a bit of compression.

Getting everything repaired, getting it studded, 3rd gen 2mm apex seals, and porting. He said the housing and rotors are in great shape. I get all my work done in PA (2 hr drive from northern nj) with dave @ KDR which now he calls it speed 1

 

dave is the man. but studded? totally unnecessary to stud a motor making 350hp......

 

dave is indeed the man.. and i live for the totally unnecessary things haha. this is one of my last major investments into this car so i'm doing whatever i can while the motor is out.

talked to dave about doing the 3rd gen swap. too many emission issues. talked about going 20b, costs too much... and lastly, of course the v8 swap.. yes i'd get better mpg but gotta stay with the rotary...

my manifold had 2 cracks in it so dave is making some modifications to give it better support.

so all in all, just not trying to cut any corners and spend the few extra $$

 

cool.... not really cutting corners but studding is totally not needed... you only need that going into the 500+ area and even then its debatable... people say you need the engine to flex a little... just my opinion but studding the motor is a complete waste of money that could be spent somewhere else

 

Nice choice with 3rd gen seals. I still believe you might as well throw in lower compression rotors but Dave believes otherwise.

Benny speaks the truth studding is un-necessary unless you really beat on the car.

Looks like you and Stevens car will be head to head....

Didn't you have the greddy turbo? Did you switch to the esmeril? I really didn't like some of the parts on the esmeril kit.. especially the turbo which died on me after 2 months. took it to this turbo specialist, told me about the quality of the turbo and he basically gutted out the turbo and replaced it with garrett internals. my snail is still the esmeril but he changed the connecting piece to the exhaust as well. showed dave to confirm and he says the turbo is now a beauty.

Anyways, I'm in to challenge the rx8 king and try to take over pride rock

that greddy turbo, i had it for a few months, and after that i changed it with Mazsport turbo set up with a precision dualballbearing turbo....we will see how it is....
i hope my engine is finish by this weekend installing it by this weekend

hey guys Ive been MIA due to a crazy Week at work....
Checkin in to share a quick story about last night.....

I drove the 7 to work last night and charmaine was with me.....
So as were driving home (Keeping a good speed) and we pass a STI. I pay it no attention and continue to my exit. When down shifting of course flames popped So I guess he saw it and followed me off the exit...

He pulls up next to me at the light (with his girl in the car) and asked if I wanted to race..... Of course I pop the glove box and put it on high boost

I look at charm and she's like "That Piece of **** wants to race?, Doesnt he know you'll smoke him" .... Im rollin laughing ..... So I look over at the STI and tell him "Nah man, Sorry....... Its not worth it". He just reply's "Yeaahhhh I hear you.. Its not worth it........Aight cool man, thats a Rx7??? right??? nice ride" And pulls a U turn and gets back on the highway....

I just thought charms reaction was too funny not to share
