[QUOTE=1QWIK7;2589826]Hey ambrose, are you showing up this tuesday? I want to talk to you about your experience with wayne mazda. I want to purchase a mazdaspeed 3 very soon.

I worked out finial deal on phone. Before going down to pick up the car, under the excuse of needing to get the check cut for balance, I asked for total. I then ran the #'s backwards and it did not match up.

- I figured the tax differently (I used approach that was given to my by NYS dealer), which is not big deal.
- I was off a little bit on the DMV fees
- Off a little bit on doc fees (This can be a huge difference from dealer to dealer and is used as a source of extra margin) Each dealer assigns a different value to this service. Back of sales ordrs states you can do this yourself too. No thanks, I stay need away from DMV.

The other difference was that they tried to hit me with $500 Window etching fee that supposedly comes with all their cars. I argued that, it is not listed on the window sticker (or supplemential sticker). They cannot arbatrialy add options and expect me to pay for it. Expecially after car price is finialized. I was willing to walk away. Eventually thye offered to take $200 of $500 off. Eventually got him to take it all off. IMHO this practice is totally unethicitial.

In addition, I told them, if I brought the car, I'd be a very unhappy customer. Customer satisfaction survay's are criticial to these guys. It impacts how much money the rep and dealer make. Apparantly a non-sale is better then a sale with a negative survay. Use the survay as leverage. I know when my wife purchased her VW the rep did not get paid unless survay was excellant. In additon the dealer lost a % of the hold-back.

I believe they have several versions of sales orders. The one they used for us had $199 (Or maybe $299) Window Etching (Optional) pre-printed on a line. So, they tried to charge me $500 for this originally, then they tell me on the sale order it is $199-$299, and it is optional. I believe they have a version with $500 and one without the words optionial.

When in the showroom, you are on their turf and you should not put yourself in a position to be surprised by anything unexpected. Do as much as you can on yor turf, via phone/email.

Bottom line price on car was $25,100 + tax + fees. I got 5.19% Financing from Capital One. Had pre-approved blank check in hand. With $5000 deposit, 60 mos, payments are about $430/mos.

Finance gal told me they lost $2,600 on car, I doubt that. They also left open option till end of the month to buy a 7/100 service contract for about $2,300. Still thinking on that. Similar service contact from Company I have service contact with wife's car, was $1,900ish. Only think different then Mazda contract is that it does not cover wheel repair is damaged by road-hazard.

Anyfeedback on value of this ext warrantee?

Tomorrow can go either way. I'll just observe the weather before heading out.

I won't be coming out tomorrow....or for the next few weeks. Hockey season is getting ready to start again, so i now have practice on tuesday and thursday for the next few weeks, then it goes to one practice a week. Just let me know when the bbq is.
