sure.....if your car is in service mazda covers the loaner regardless of where you bought it

looks like i'm gonna be taking the car to weisleder mazda. my boss has a good friend over there, and he said he would make sure they hook me up. It helps they're an hour closer than wayne, as well. If they can't fix it, I'll take it up to wayne.

Omar- I am going to see you tonight anyway. Id rather talk to everyone at once than have to deal with 30 different emails going back and forth.

 

nope.. probably just coils, but the car is definitely down on power. It's still very driveable, but my butt dyno and the dynojet say it's down about 30 hp. I wouldn't care that much, except for the type of driving that I do, I really need it running well. Hopefully its not compression, since i have an autox on sat, and another next sat. bringing the car in tomorrow morning. keep your fingers crossed!

 

should be fine. Considering you are an autocrosser who probably has a good feel for your car, you would feel it if there was something amiss with the compression.

 

honestly, here's the thing.. I didn't start autocrossing until this year, and I'm pretty sure that the problem has been getting consistently worse since I got the car, and was probably there when I bought it. I went from a 93 taurus with a weak motor to this, so even the 8 with a f*'ed up set of coils feels like a rocketship compared to that. I started autocrossing, and noticed I could never keep up with the other 8 guys that were there, even the ones that were just starting out, like me.

I don't want to blame it all on power, but there's obviously something lacking. I first really noticed it when I test drove the new 8, with the new final drive ratio. I couldn't believe how much faster it was than my car, and I didn't even push it that hard...

 

could always test out another owners 8 locally......its one of the reasons why we hold weekly meets...in case some one needs help
