Just my opinion, but I personally can't see why someone would want to do that to such a beautiful car. It ruins the lines of the car to have it dropped like that. How do you go over speed bumps in parking lots?

Very nice...i guess your werent waiting much time to put your own touch on your 8.
Some people like to keep it plain, but why not spice things up a little?
Have any other plans for your new 8......................

Yes we have other plans already, Starting Wed. The car will start getting turbo charge, and the motor would be taken out to get port and polish, I want to see how much this renesis engine can handle. And i would post up all my wins & loss, We would race the car in the next englishtown event, with the turbo system and maybe a NOS system, ( small shot)

Looking forward to some results.

It looks like something is broke with it lowered like that. Just my opinion.

Nothing is broken, Due to the flares you can drop the car maybe 5 " and it still wont rub , and the car drive very very very nice drop. Just like it did with the stock suspension

Lightbulb

Hey Acosta,
I guess this voids your warrantee once you take out the motor to do the porting if it hasnt already by lowering the car.

keep me updated on how its all going. If you can take some pics of the motor and its internals, process.

Sounds awesome,i wonder when theyll have these motors for solo sale,i'd like to rebuild my 89 13b,maybe i can throw a renesis in it.....lol

My reaction is sort of mixed. I'm somewhat jealous that ACOSTARACING has enough money to not only buy an Rx-8 but do these sort of mods immediately. I guess I'm also just not comfortable enough with machining to not cringe at the thought of doing that to a $30K car.

But on the other hand, it'll be cool to see the effects of turbocharging and what not. Please keep us updated on your progress, ACOSTARCING.

Looks like you didnt waste any time starting your mods, I didnt either. My car comes in 3 weeks and I already have placed the order for my Mazdaspeed kit, and my volks. My wheels will arrive tom and the kit will take 45 to 60 days to get here. So you cut the springs....are you going to stay with cut springs or are you going to get a full suspension setup? Tein will have there suspension ready for sale by the end of August....so I have been told. Good luck with your turbo set up! I hope everything works out.

Keep posting as you get stuff done!!!

Ryan

just want to make sure, ACOSTARACING you're actually part of a tuner shop right?

I assume the shop is, in effect, using the car as an guinea pig to test out all kinds of setups?
