MSCW Scenic Drive this Saturday

Anybody going? I think they're going to the Naked Mountain Vineyard. I'm thinking about going but havne't fully decided yet. I haven't been on a scenice drive in a while, and I think I remember these things usually miata dominated (I used to have a miata then). Who's going?

scenic drive

It's basically something the club does on a monthly basis. They go on half day or all day tours of the surrounding area. Most they follow roads off the beaten track and look for twisties as much as they can. more info at www.mscw.com info about this month's drive is about mid-way down the page, under the March 2nd meeting info. Still not sure if I'm gonna go or not. Just wondering if other 8's are going to go as it has usually been dominated by miatas. Depending on weather and schedule, I may still go.

All Mazdas are welcome on the Scenic Drives. Yes, Miatas usually dominate the numbers because their owners are more in to the concept, especially when it is "top down" weather. I would likely be going this Saturday except I will be driving to the Hard Rock in Pittsburgh for the Pinaversary event. Heading out about 4AM Saturday. Who's with me? :D

But they are still paved roads. Miata owners don't like gravel or dirt roads. I was on one drive where we had to go about 500 yards on gravel and I thought some drivers "doth protest too much". They were creeping along at 1/2 mph. :p

gravel roads

Ha! I think I was on that drive. But then again, as I recall someone saying, that Roy had a tendency to get lost at times. Yes...all cars are welcome and it is on paved roads. By "off the beaten track" I was referring to roads not traveled as much and not major thoroughfares.

I plan to be at the MSCW meeting though. This will be my inaugural meeting as a rotary person. I guess I can't hang out with the miata guys anymore. :p
