Moving to Maryland

Next month I'm moving on out to Laurel, Maryland from Lafayette, Indiana. I guess the most important information I'll need is names of the local Mazda dealers and/or rotary mechanics. Rotary specialists would be great since this area's a wasteland of Wankel knowledge.

if i remember correctly, laurel, md is near laurel, delaware, so probably your closest mazda dealer will be in salisbury.

Doesn't seem to be close to Delaware:
MapQuest for Laurel, Maryland
Southwest corner of Anne Arundel county.

Well, which Laurel? There are two here in MD I think. One is the next city over from me. I'm in Beltsville/College Park.

Laurel is close to Baltimore but I am not familiar with dealers in the area. It is NO WHERE near Delaware.

There are dealers and there are "dealers" (i.e. the ones who will rip you off) ... Check the postings of good and bad dealerships.

If you want a good haul, I would recommend Heritage-Mile One of Bel Air. Mile One has a ton of dealerships throughout the Baltimore area. I go to the one in Bel Air and their service staff is AWESOME!!!

They even call back after a service visit to see if you were satisfied. They know how to create and keep loyal customers.

Bel Air unfortunately is about 1hr from Laurel and there are quite a few dealerships closer.

Why would anyone intentionally move to Laurel?

My thoughts too? I mean I lived in College Park for 4 years (during college) and that was enough of PG county for me, and especially enough of laurel.

Sheesh. For cheap housing I shouldn't be moving at all. A decent mortgage plus property taxes are cheaper in Indiana than any rent I found in Maryland.

There is no such thing in the DC area. That is part of the reason I am moving to Phoenix.

If you need to be close to Fort Meade, I would suggest looking in the other direction towards Pasadena or Severna Park and Annapolis.
Laurel is, essentially, the arm pit of PG county which is the arm pit of Maryland.

They are starting to change Laurel a little though. They just completely tore down a Apartment Complex where a lot of the low life trash came from. I have no idea what their going to do with the empty space now. And for the Mall, its worthless! I think their going to sell that and have it tore down as well.

Funny, no one has answered your question. I will ask Heritage Mile One Mazda of Bel Air whom they would recommend and get back to you.

I'm still in Anne Arundel county instead of Prince George's. I found a pretty even distribution of dumps and nice places in the 13 apartments I saw. Elkridge, Glen Burnie, Odenton, Crofton, Piney Orchard, Laurel...

I use Congressional Mazda in Rockville MD, about 10 miles from Laurel. They have been very good to my RX8 everytime I brought it in. Stay away from Darcars Mazda in Silver Spring (6 miles from Laurel). Their service department sucks. I live about 1/4 mile from them but I would rather drive the miles to Congressional.

I'll agree with that. Darcars sucks bad! I had to get the Vice President in there one day.

I'd suggest Rich Morton Mazda see Frank Titus ... a straight shooter.

Never heard anything good about DarCars service. I had poor experiences with Russell on RT40 with my 7 ... one of the reasons I purchased from Rich Morton.

If you're at Fort Meade, you should consider Columbia.

Welcome to the area.

Yeah, I also go to Fitzgerald Mazda. They've been the best service department that I've had so far. I live in Annapolis, so it's pretty convenient.
