MSCW Meeting (DC Area) Feb 4th

The Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington meets the first Wednesday of each month at Fuddruckers in Tyson's Corner. It is behind Rosenthal Mazda on Route 7/Leesburg Pike. If you are heading west on Rt 7, turn left on Spring Hill Road just past Rosenthal Mazda/Nissan. Fuddruckers is on the left past the Winstar building. All Mazda enthusiasts are welcome. People and cars start gathering in the large parking lot between 6:30 and 7pm. Meeting is in the private dining room at 7:30. Reviews of past events and details on upcoming events will be presented. Check the website each month for special meeting details or guest speakers.

Wednesday, February 4th, we will have a guest speaker from Liberty Mutual Insurance. He updates us about once a year with the latest trends/changes in the insurance industry and answers your questions about coverage, claims, etc.

Trekn, how many 8s usually show up? Anyone with a K&N intake or anything interesting? I'd like to check out some of the mods in person.

I think our current record for the meeting is four or five RX-8s. And yes, some have shown up with mods, but not sure which mods. There are more than enough local RX-8 owners on this forum to set a new record for meeting night. :D Who's coming? What mods are you showing?

Typical turnout is 20-25 Mazdas during colder months. Warm weather can easily double that number.

this is where I would say, "come to the meeting Wednesday and find out." :D :D

I may drop by if weather permits, and the ice on my RX-7 has melted away :D

Some kind of car wash would raise a heck of a lot of money for the MSCW. I'd pay dearly to have a clean RX-8 right about now.

Information, pictures, registration forms, video, hot lap around the track, etc. are posted at www.MazdaDrivers.com

Parade laps are also scheduled for lunchtime, provides everyone a chance to actually drive the world class road course... at safe highway speeds behind a pace car If you want to drive fast, one needs to sign up for the school.

The March event is two/thirds sold out. Now is a good time to sign up so as to not miss out.

It was a bit chilly Wednesday night so folks didn't dally too long in the parking lot. But it was warm inside with over 50 people attending the meeting/presentation. Welcome again to the new RX-8 owners on the forum that attended. Thanks to all for your participation and questions for the insurance guy.

Since the meet at Chili's Saturday Feb 7 has been postponed, if you want to do something else in your RX-8, check out the MSCW scenic drive to Naked Mountain Winery Saturday morning. (Especially if you like Lasange!) RSVP to the drive coordinator today.

It was a good meeting; Ben M. was an excellent speaker and provided excellent tips on how to deal with your insurance company. I ran off fifty flyers and there was not enough to go around. Drive on Saturday and then on March 10 it’s a Tech Session at Gaithersburg Mazda.
