Dammit, why does it have to be the same weekend as the Big Game?

I'll be there on Sunday at 11AM... They should have parking set up in the parking lot right next to the event... Actually the whole event is set up right in the parking lot of Shea... At least that's how it was when I went to the Volvo event 2 weekends ago...

Cousin's Paintball out in Coram. They hold an enormous game every year 2000+ people come supposedly, this is my first time going there.

I'm a Queens Want-to-be RX-8 owner. The reason I don't have an 8: check the sig.

yup same group! Any reason why you're attending the NYC event instead of Boston this year? Are you planning on driving the WRX down?

"Instead of"? Who said that? :D

I probably will be driving the Tahoe. The leather seats, a nice stereo, the capability to blend more into traffic and a suspension capable of sucking up pot-hole ridden CT and NY highways are more then enough reasons not to drive the Wagon.

I'll probably be the only guy wearing a Mazda Rev-It-Up T-shirt in the run group.

Sunday they're calling for scattered showers... could be interesting.

it was fun. I got there too late to race, but somone gave me their tickets and I got to squeeze in 2 laps in the last 20 mins of the event.

What is the difference if you pay the $40 or not?

for 40 u get to 8 runs between the 3 skills course and 2 timed runs on the main track.

where did u get the 2 laps? if u said the last 20 mins im assuming u did the slalom in the 3 hatchs?

Just went yesterday, had a blast ... the weather was great.

best time was 35.7, this year was better than last year. The 3 feels more nimble than the 6, and the courses felt faster. The go karts were great too. It's a shame I didn't get to test drive an 8, the lines were too long.

Hey Imp, were you the one who scored a 797 on your first run?

Saw it, that was great ... congrats

Imp, so it was you!

I thought that was you when they were interviewing you after the first run, and then you said you drive a subaru wagon... but then I wasn't sure since I didn't catch your name on your website prior...
I was standing almost right in front of you on line for the 2nd run... the tall chinese guy in the gray long sleeve shirt with the sleeves rolled up (It felt a bit chilly coming out of the house in the morning). I got a 34.889 on my first run, then I screwed up badly on my 2nd run, don't know if you saw, I was the guy that went too fast into the first corner and slid out and went right through that whole row of cones... although i'd have to say that was fun in itself also! haha..
I did score a victory however in my gokart race which resulted in a free t-shirt... :D

Congrats on your win, the event was definitely fun, minus all that waiting time.. and good luck in the nationals!

Shawnio, I see you're from Florida... saw a S2k w/ Florida plates in the parking lot when i was getting my car, was that yours?

greddylfe:

geesh, I'm not from Florida ... I don't know how that ended up in my profile ... NYC native, born and raised.

I took the 7 train in, my mk3 Supra was at home. I kinda wish that s2k was mine, it gets better mileage ... although my daily driver recently has been an electric scooter ... www.1500x.com

Can't wait until they have another Rev-It-Up. Next time I'll make arrangements to go with a bunch of others in the area. It was fun, but would've been more fun if I'd have gone with some people. Most of my friends aren't into racing. I need new friends!

Good luck at Laguna, Imp
