Mazda Rev It Up in DC May 1st & 2nd
This event sold out last year and is one heck of a fun time. If you want to play with a Mazda 3, sign up now.:D
Complete event details and registration at Mazda Rev It Up site.
I expect we will also have Mazda club day Friday April 30th like last year. Some members will probably again be invited to display their cars throughout the weekend at the Club Tent. Last year, I was fortunate to be the first RX-8 owner to bring a real RX-8 for display at RevItUp. The Mazda Staff liked my Black better than the RX-8 prototypes Blue and Red they had been carrying around. We also had Miatas and all three generations of the RX-7s from Club members. More details on the club portion will be posted when I know them. Note if you are there for the Club Day, it is free but your times do not count for the prizes. You must still register and drive on Saturday or Sunday to be eligible for the official timing/standings/prizes.

I almost completed the registration today. Anyone want to select a grouping all, most or some attend? I was going to select #21 which starts at 1:40 Saturday afternoon and goes through about 4:40. It had 38 openings - the most of any afternoon sessions. I have about 100 miles to drive to get there so 7AM is out for me unless I stay overnight in the area.

We are looking for Mazdas to be in our enthusiast tent on the Sat and Sun that REV IT UP is in your area (you do not have to do both days...one or the other is fine). Your show car will be there from 6:30 am to 6. Any owner displaying their car for a day will get a comp pass for one day at Rev It Up. The tent can hold only 3 cars and we want one rotary (RX 7 or 8), one Miata and one Protege (or 3) or a 6 as well....so please let me know soon if you would like to display your car.
Also while you are at Rev it Up come by the enthusiasts tent . You are welcome to bring information about your local club as well.
You can meet the folks from Mazdasport Magazine and from Driving Sports Magazine....and share your story ides!
If you want to include your car as a show car please email me direct at

See you all there...Group 22 for me on Sunday!
I did an event like this twice for BMW a couple years back, part of their Susan B Koman Drive Against Cancer campaign. They had an auto handling class followed by timed laps on an autocourse. No prizes however, just bragging rites. This should be a lot more fun!!
Hope to see many fellow RX-8 owners there!
Enjoy your drive...

Another reason to come to Mazda RevItUP!!
Mazda is handing out $250 certificates at the event which you can use on purchase or lease of a new/unused 2004 or 2005 Mazda. This is a cash incentive that can be used with other incentive probrams/rebates.
The offer is transferable but the ORIGINAL certificate must be presented and turned in at time of purchase.
Apparently this program was in effect for last year's event, too. The certificate was probably in the goody bag they handed out for doing the survey.
Thanks to Brown's Mazda for alerting me to this incentive program.

Anyone going to the events planned...
...for Friday night, April 30th? I'm pretty interested, but would like to know more about what's scheduled and what to expect.

I received my stealth bulbs today for the turn signals and front side markers. You can see them on my RX-8 Saturday at RevItUp in the Club tent. Makes a world of difference. Should be standard equipment along with the strakes and front/rear rotor accents

ANOTHER GREAT REV IT UP!!!
It was great meeting all of the RX-8 owners the past two days, some lurking here and others yet to find RX8Club.com. I talked to a lot of people that plan on getting an RX-8 in the next 6-12 months.
This year, they had both automatic and 6-speed RX-8s available for test drive on the driving course. Longest lines both days.
Then there was the other RX-8 demonstrating 'drifting' both days about every 2 hours. Nice to have a tire sponsor with extra tires standing by... I happend to be watching the time when the driver drifted wide and ran over the tire wall ripping the rear bumper cover off and dragging it around the track by the license tag light harness.

This event could only be improved if there were shorter lines (fewer people) and an instructor in the car with you during the clinics. That might have helped raise me from a 1,331st overall finish. Ugh.
That red Mazdaspeed RX-8 was awesome looking.

Cool event!
I had a blast, despite me getting there late I still had a chance to walk to the different drivers tents and meet a few people including Carl (TreknMazda) btw great guy!
The go-karts were pretty cool too, but the highlight of my time at Mazda-Rev-it-up was when that blue RX-8 busted through into the go-kart track and began having his own drifting competition right on the track! He also really lit those rear tires up, I mean white smoke was everywhere!! I took some pics of this maybe I'll post them soon.
