I didn't think you had an STi??? I thought you had an RS that had a lot of work done to it. Do you ever go to LISC meets? Your car looks great and that's some serious power you're putting down.

Hey every one just though that I would let you know that there is a huge meet at bald hill every Monday it has everything from old school muscle to exotics and its being run by the island import day guys and they have red bull sponsoring all of their events

 

Whats up yall. I am having some issues and in need of some help here. I had some work done at sunrise transmission and needless to say...it didnt hold. At 7500 ropms the pressure plate blew, blew the flywheel, blew the bell housing, blew the tranny and the motor!!!!! Awesome right? anyways i am having the car shipped up to ny beings as i know have to go to court with this place cause they wont cover the work done (less then 1000 miles on the repair) and i need to have an expert look at the engine so that he can testify in court as to where the problems arose from. 13000 worth of work is unaccetpable to me especially after dropping 9000 into it and still having 10k left on the note. yea we need some meets guys, there was a small group that met in wantaugh for a while that was fun

 

Whats up with this group anyone from here still come out? If anyone's interested the Queens meets usually have a decent turnout. Since its getting colder less of us are coming out.

But this thursday we plan on having one last meet before Christmas/New years. About 5-6ish Rx8s are coming out and probably the miata and mazdaspeed3 guys'll be around. Plus theres always random characters that show up (240's, Evo's Bimmers, Proteges, and some Fd/Fcs).

If anyones wants to come thru and say hey. Were in Douglaston Queens right off the Cross Island expy. Near Great Neck LI.

Im changing my plugs/wires this weekend and I'm debating if compression test is worth my time.... form what carafax is claiming ita still original engine and starter
soetimes takes like 1 sec longer like on 95F today was around 80 outside drove it for 25 mine and came back to art after10-15 mins

A meet would be nice. I don't have my rx8 anymore (sol knows), but I'd still like to meet up. I'll just park my car somewhere else :P

 

Yeah, plugs/wires/coils would be a good start.

Whatever you do, don't bring it to Wantagh Mazda, they'll try sucking your pockets dry and make you pay for all different things. I changed coils/plugs/wires and did a carbon cleaning myself once and they said they needed to change them again (over $500-600) before continuing to different tests. I've been there a few times before and they could never figure out the hard start problem, after everything was said and done, it was most likely the engine. I Walked right out.

I'd invite you to the Queens/NYC Rx8 meets.. But apparently were displaced ATM. Should have a location again soon. But if anything we'll reset to the default spot in College Point under the bridge.

 

Yeah definitely recommend you coming to the queens meets if its not to far for you.... I knew a couple of guys who use to come like 30-60miles in long island... One guy from Staten island, and a couple from the Bronx....

 

I have an '04 RX-8 and an RX-7 and I was wondering if anyone knows anyone who specializes in rotary engines

 

Queens Long Island maniacs - I am 6 months into my '05 RX8. Had a tune up done nothing major but lately been getting an on and off vibration as well as a lot of bugging. My mechanic says the car is fine. Would love to met up see what you think and if there is a reliable and honest mechanic you can redo would be great as well. I am in queens but happy to make the drive - thx
