Local Dealers in the MA Area(or RI)

Aight.. for any of you who have been keeping up with Mulligan Gate and more recently and upcoming fiasco Rotar Gate (sorry my names for them). I've been having some minor issue's with my dealer as of late and come Thursday it will be the stay or go time for me. I've had no real bad issues with them though at times I feel they leave me outa the loops. I make mention of seeing a TsB on this site or just in a general mention "I've seen a TsB" and I get slight blow off. Rust on my side sills still isnt done correctly and I know I'll get the blow off again like last time "Oh its supposed to do that since it has no real B-pillar" no shyt sherlock but to the point of rubbing the paint off down to the metal and then trapping water between that exposed metal and the rubber sealant thats normal?!

If any of you can highly recommend a great Service Dept that wont blow me off like I'm 15 year old when I mention I've seen a TsB or "read on a forum board" it would be awsome of you. I'm a nice guy and hate being "that customer" most bitch about so its why I havent gone off on these guys yet (that and not sure where else I'd go as of right now). Dmc27 mentioned his service dept but distance as of right now may be a issue but who knows. Just curious whatelse is out there.

How about telling us which dealer you're having problems with?

There's...
Tasca in E.Prov/Seekonk on Rt 44
Another Tasca in Cranston.
Vachon in Attleboro
Autocenter in Middletown RI

I bought my 8 from Vachon, never been back (too far away for routene service)
Been to Autocenter on the Island once for its 1st oil change (and I work near there).

Other than that, I have 14.5K miles and done my own oil changes, so I can't really reccommend anyone.... but I'll probably go to autocenter for the recalls as its convenient for me.

Norwood's MazdaGallery. Come Thursday if its gonna happen like I think its gonna I'm not going to want to go there. Sucks since they are litteraly right down my street both work and home to.

Pretty much I made mention of a episode in the Recall thread, that I had there today mentioning the upcoming recall and they blasted the site. Then when I asked about this Headlight restoration kit he couldnt tell me or find anyone to tell me. I have a nagging feeling in the back of my head its not what is needed for my headlight or even for the Rx-8 at all. But yanno I'm the stupid "kid" who reads the internet. Hell today a girl I used to date looked at my headlights and made a comment about how it looks like it needs visine and how the passenger side is the worst.

Might check out the Attelboro Mazda is it on Rt1 by the Emerald Square Mall? I need the 30k mile maintence but Gallery charges like $400.

Thanks for responding btw man.

They are on Rt1, but stay on 95S if coming from the North. Take Exit 1 off 95, and make a U-turn after you get onto Rt 1. They're right there. There's no exit to go N on Rt 1, so you have to go Rt 1 South and turn around. Easiest way.

If that dealership doesn't work out, you should probably try 128 Mazda. Everytime I go there the service reps are all nice and they let you know what is going on with your car.

Thanks well I got a online survey for them today and in the comment box section I made mention how it took over a week for my order but when I called for a possible E.T.A. for the items I never got a call back. And how no one knew what a certain item that was order for me was. But 'eh... come tomorrow we'll find out I guess.

Clavius what did the guys at Mazda Gallery say when you mentioned this site and the recall? I get the feeling that some of the techs at Mazda Gallery don't have a clue about the 8. I also got my car from them because I work a couple miles away, but I'm thinking of taking it to Vachon for the recall. I live in Attleboro, but they didn't have the 8 that I wanted when I was shopping. When I called Tasca back in Jan if they had any 8's with a sunroof in stock, the salesman told me these cars couldn't have sunroofs because "it would ruin the integrity and chassy of the car". I laughed and hung up the phone, so I don't know if I trust the guys over there.

^ Oi Holy check the main recall thread around page 23'sh I made mention of my "episode" there and yeah it pissed Zoom44 off. They said sites like this are usualy full of hotair and tend to generally be wrong, and dont take much weight as in what it said. I was kinda annoyed but it all since as I said in the post's on that thread that this site has helped me out alot with finding out whats normal and what is not normal. If not for this site confirming it eats up oil I would of been down at their service dept grumbling about why my oil light keeps on turning on every few fill ups.

Be nice if Mazda just came out with a "Rotary Certification Program" and these tech's are very versed in anything Rotary so when I bring it in I feel comfortable that they know what they are doing. I think Drew got curious because a few times I've made mention about seeing a TsB or reading a TsB about a issue I posted to find out about on here but he just seemed to shrug it off and I guess me mentioning this upcoming recall got him really curious. Hell my door sills still arnt done properly. Hmm **** it gonna find a USB cable and print up that TsB and get dat **** done next week. At the Car show I'll show you what I mean with the Door Sills.

Drew is nice dont get me wrong but what he and another rep said just got on my wrong side yanno. That and when I asked about my "Headlight Restoration Kit" he didnt know what it was so he called around and couldnt find anyone to explain it to me (the tech who ordered it wasnt in {how nice}). I have a Apt in the morning to replace my d.s. visor and I hope this "Kit" is in and my headlights can be fixed. My friend just seen them and said they look like ****. So now I have a pair of Evo-R Eyelids currently collecting dust.

Overall I'm just to damn nice and it takes alot to get me to lose it. The previous owner obviously didnt take good care of my car and I'm the one trying to catch up.

Kev:

If you want a good service rep and folks to work on your 8, try Werner Mazda in Manchester, NH. Ask for Apryl Perry when calling the service line. She is excellent and goes above and beyond the call of duty. Plus she owns an 8 also, so that helps out fellow owners.

Tell her Kevin sent ya

Hmmm... might have to give them a shot. Fairhaven is only about 20 min away.

Well after waiting a WEEK!!! I go in today to get my visor replaced and finaly find out what is a "Headlight Restoration Kit". Hahahaha um yeah sorry angered laughter here. The visor they recieved/ordered was the wrong one.. they ordered/receieved a passenger side visor not a DRIVERS side one, they ordered the right one and are having it overnighted so sometime around 1pm'sh I'll get a phonecall to bring it in.

Now on the headlight restoration kit.. after a week of waiting I find out.. um. hm yeah One Its a wetsanding/polishing job to the "SURFACE" of the headlights and Two.. Its Out of Warrenty so I'll have to pay Out of Pocket. Now that would be kewl IF my headlights where I dunno 6 years old, but they arent they are 2 years old and look like they are stoned and need Visine. So yeah at the upcoming car show in NH I'm gonna be asking you guys there what you all think about my headlights.. get it wetsanded by them are they blowing smoke up my *** or goto a different dealer and attempt to get them completly replaced..

-:sigh:- what a vacation...

I use Sentry West Mazda in Shrewsbury even though I didn't buy my 8 there. They are the best. Jim, the service Manager is really good and knows the 8 well.
