Ya srsly... I didn't even know mine were HID until I saw the repair bill (Didn't pay attention to the package on the car).

The non-HID ones are 600 a piece, the HID are 1000. I've no idea why there is the massive difference in cost.

I got HID's and my driver side is COOKED and my passenger side is cracked.

Now...Get this....At the accident i went to the hospital and i told the cop to let my friend take my car to the bodyshop I WANTED.

How the tow guy forged my signature and towed it all the way to the bronx to some shithole shop name autorama.....Now i wanna get it towed to my shop (my friends car was near totaled and they fixed it to BRAND NEW i thought he got a new car! frame fixed and everything)

BUT the shop doesn't wanna give the car up cause they wanna get paid for fix it -- making me send in forms and call and **** -- the lady at autorama got into a **** storm with my insurance agent on a 3 way call -- **** was crazy!

Jin i got you after everything is done -- dont wanna post anything yet.
Im going to see the car in the morning and make sure they release the car....gonna take more pictures of it.

I was going to do a quick comparo against the KBB value of your car.

And holy **** wtf, I hope you get that tow guy in trouble. And how the **** does the shop say they wanna get paid for fixing it? It's a quote, they can't fix it unless you approve the quote, and they can't keep the car if you didn't approve them to fix it!

And yeah, you can expect 2k added to the quote for those headlights. Don't let them write anything less.

The guy who towed your car probably towed your car to that Auto Body Shop because they give him some money to tow it there.

Also, check if they used a flatbed or not. If they literally towed it rear wheels down to the body shop, without keeping the clutch in, that's would be messed up.

Do not listen to your lawyer. Go through the other persons insurance. If you go through your insurance you will have to pay your deductible and then get reimbursed. Also your aftermarket parts will be covered. The auto body shop that your car is at now has no legal right so you can bring the car to wherever you would like. I have a family memeber who works for an insurance company. Why did you hire a lawyer anyway?

^ yup you dont necessarily need special insurance for aftermarket stuff they will add it to your check when the adjuster looks at it just make sure he knows how much it costs and produce reciepts even if its from paypal coz they will pay you for em ... ive totaled a few cars and always got money for my parts if i couldnt get em off and sell em

I guess it depends on insurance company.

State Farm said flat out no they wouldn't pay for aftermarket parts.
They did however help me out by arranging the car to get out of the lot and to my dads shop so I could remove all aftermarket stuff with oem.

I'm also very hesitant to believe the insurance company will cover the aftermarket parts. Unless you specifically made sure your policy covered them, I thought the default was no additional coverage on aftermarket parts.

You don't understand.

My insurance is going to go after their insurance after they know what insurance he got....Right now im at fault cause there's no other insurance involved.

I'm not paying nothing yet -- By the time i have to pay my deductible their insurance will be covering that.

I get the police report in the morning. I spoke with the shop they just want the business but i told them to **** off cause that shop is ****. They just trying to hold on to the car and make as much money off of it as possible but its getting me mad cause of all the hoops i have to jump through.

Also they did include my aftermarket parts cause they got my VIS hood listed on the visual damages list and its at retail value ($800) and i didn't pay anything near that amount.

Once everything is in order their insurance people will come out and look at the car and cut me a check and then im going to cut it to the shop and my insurance can fall back.

Once again depending on if there is more damage my baby could be lost forever.

Side note: I got a lawyer cause im going to sue that dude + the taxi company he works for and im going through therapy 3 times a week for my neck and lower back and thumb.

I stand to make money off this dudes negligence of traffic laws. Its an open an shut case. I have witnesses, i have a passenger and im planning on getting a settlement offer after my insurance company attacks his insurance company if its anything below 10k im not taking it and we can fight this out in court.

Dude. you are handling this well.

As far as getting your car moved where you want it, call your insurance company, and have them contact that place and notify them to release the vehicle. Plain and simple, should be no BS, no paperwork. Hell, most places will hear "I'm not gonna let you do the work" and your car would have been on the street in 20 mins tops.
I don't know what their deal is, but have your insurance contact them.

Yeah....I'm going in a few hours before my therapy to make sure they give up the car -- I already faxed them information to release my car but knowing this shop they will give the drivers problems.

I'm going to take pictures of the crash intersection & damage outside and under the hood (which they didn't look at yet) cause obviously there is a ton of metal work that needs to be done.

After i get the police report I'm going to fax everything (along with my medical records) to their insurance m y insurance and then my lawyer.

Congrats man. I'm glad you got the police report and things were so favorable on it lol...

Tip to everyone, pay attention to the police reports when you get into an accident. Insurance companies treat the police reports as the only thing they will trust (regardless of how often they say they believe you).

Yeah!

I asked the insurance agent if the police report was wrong what happens and he was like that the police report cant be wrong and whatever is on it we are following.

I was like that's bullshit cause they could have messed it up -- but it worked out in my favor and the dude admitted it -- Im so ******* happy right now.

Yeah, you never want to annoy the police officer when you're involved in an accident. The insurance company doesn't give a crap how many witnesses you have, they only care what's on paper.
