I went the opposite way - after 20 years of Audi/VW I got sick of constant expensive repairs and have officially sworn off German cars. A quick search will find hundreds of messed up Audi stories. A4 front suspensions are notorious for serious problems though they improved them somewhat in my 2000. Under 60k/4-5 years they are sortof sometimes ok; after, it's a mess. Good luck.

An AT rx8 would never walk my a4. My a4 is soo much faster..its not a downgrade to me..it has awd so i can actually drive it in the snow. My rx8 was ungodly slow..it was embarassing. And i wanted a stick car.
I love german cars..all my friends have bmws and vw/audis.
I get all my parts done cheap...i go to shops that only work on german cars so i get good deals.

Like the others, I went the other way from you, went from a 2002 1.8t Jetta with suspension and other mods to an RX-8. Glad I did.
I agree with the others, the repair bills on my stupid Jetta were way higher than anything I've had done to the Mazda. And it's cooler, hands down.
Hope you enjoy the Audi, they are solid cars, no doubt. Maybe APR can get you driving something cool, they've got a whole slew of performance mods if you've got the cash.
