Just want to know if there is some way to get an inspection done, regardless of CEL in the NYC Queens Area. I realize this may be inappropriate but I would appreciate any assistance. Feel free to PM if necessary.

ay if your car is 96 or newer and has an obd port.. as soon as its plugged up to the inspection interface CEL = fail.

 

Snipaz failed cuz of a CEL and he lives in NY.

you can configure the AP to completely disable a CEL inside the actual PCM.. so it's not just "clearing" the CEL but getting rid of it at the software level which probably means I won't need to swap my CAT in for inspection when I get the midpipe on!

 

thats if the CEL is due to the missing cat.. AP wont get rid of ALL causes of a CEL.

 

Actually it can disable ANY CEL.

Here i'll show you a pic of the tuning software in a minute.

 

hm, thats interesting, i never knew that, i tried downloading the software but it was pulled for some glitch before i could get it.

 

All that has to be done is "uncheck" any DTC and it'll disable it.

Obviously some caution needs to be taken on what you disable.

why don't you find out what is the cel? fix it, it's your car, don't tell me that you don's care when there is CEL..unless you have some modifications or major modificatios, then it's understood that you are trying to get a short cut, but when it's stock, it means someting when you have CEL.

i failed because my friend erased the code for me and the sensors came up "not ready" on their scanner. technically i didnt have the cel on but they couldnt get a reading

 

get cobb ... disable the code. set trims. get inspected.

Or borrow someones who lives nearby... some one in glen cove area has one i think
