Ok i see NYC, NJ, MD spotted you threads, but nothing for Long Island. Maybe it's because you guys are too cool for a thread like this haha j/k. But anyway thought I'd start one.
I spotted a Lightning Yellow 8 parked off of a back road on the North side of the Broadway Mall in Hicksville. Whoever's car this is oh boy is it hot, full MS kit, nice set of wheels, strakes, definately done up right good luck with it buddy whoever you are!

I dont want to sound like a snobby dik, but li is def not NYC.
Especially when everyone tells directions by making a left or a right by the 7-11/ pizza hut...
Plus you guys dont pay city tax either.
Hell even staten island is questionable... hehe

I have to agree with SSJ here. I grew up in the city and it's way different from being on LI. In fact the only reason I'm not going to move back into the city is my 8. I wouldn't keep a car in the city.
Here are your general rules of thumb:
1. If you have a law you probably do not live in the "city"
2. If your primary mode of transportation isn't the subway you probably don't live in the city.
Hell I used to live in queens and I still didn't consider that really the city. Though the city is now safer then any of the other boroughs for the most part.
Oh, and Staten island is NOT in the city, I don't know what taxes they have to pay but it doesn't matter. They're not.
He does, but I understand where he is coming from, when one deals with all one has to deal with when living in the city or the boroughs and then someone who lives in a very sub-sub-urban area says "I'm a New Yorker" one gets this urge to twist their wannabe heads off. This also includes people from the bible belt who have lived in the city for a couple of months or a year or two and say with confidence they are a New Yorker.
When talking to people who live in another country or in a far away state you can say you live near NYC. But to in state people when you say you live in NY, NYC, or The City you mean Manhattan, otherwise you say Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, LI, etc.

Do you watch the news, do you hear of all the **** that be going down in LI. Ppl getting shot at, houses getting robbed its all becoming more and more frequent.
not counting the ganggs that have moved into suffolk county. Trust me kid LI in 10-15 years is gonna be NYC.
LI is gonna get worse and worse. YOu see patches of Hoods that are bad next to good ones. EXample, my moms lives in Baldwin, beautiful place, next door is (**** i forgot the name) but its ghetto hahah.
LI is going to become NYC whether you want to admit it or not, watch the news ppl. I never seen LI so much in the news in the past few years.!
And yes SI is questionable, they got there own lil world over there. ITs a totally diff experience and mindset!

I actually wasnt refering to crime. Manhattan is a pretty safe place except for the bad areas. Larger crimes have generally moved away from the city.

We was looking at houses in ValleyStream / Elmont. Yo no joke **** was like 8 mile in chicago.
1 side was all the super nice houses owned by mainly caucasians (some arabs/asain), the other side of the road the houses were NICe but not as nice nah mean, and they were more hispanics and blacks. ITs funny its like a lil segregated nice neighborhood. THen u get the knuckles heads from neighboring towns going thru the nice hoods and ******* it up for the rest of them.
But its life man, **** happens.
Harlem is becoming the ritzy hood righ tnow. i See sotheby's buying and selling houses over here like its nothing. Gentrification at its best. Ever since clinton moved to 125th the ppl thought it was good. Hes pushing all the ppl with less money further north into BX. Trust me harlem in 10 years is gonna be for rich folks with $$$.
I been going here for 5 years and yo i seeen all these burnout houses mad ghetto areas become beautiful houses with $3000 rents/month. ******* sick, no 1 can pay that, unless u paid. Areas where ppl got robbed on a frequent got mad cops, have grass and plants and ppl walking with babies and dogs. Its really changing!..
So its life man all hoods go thru these trends in NYC i guess its LI time to have a lil taste!
