Had my Mazda at the dealer (North Penn Mazda) for state inspection today and saw 2 WB 8s in the lot. 1 was pretty sharp, the other had quite a bit of chrome on it and it looked obnoxious.

On the way back, (in Lansdale) I passed an 8 that was a gunmetal gray color (I don't know what the Mazda color for it was.. I should look that up..) we exchanged waves. Pretty sure I saw the same guy a few days earlier on Broad St. also exchanged waves.

 

Went by a Brilliant Black in Yardley PA thursday morning, you were heading north on 32 and flashed your lights

 

You probably saw my car.. the one you think is sharp is mine (No chrome whatsoever) I painted my wheels and badges gunmetal.

I've been without my 8 for 2 weeks now and have been seeing tons of them! I always pass a black rx8 (im in the WB) right by MaGerks on 73, we always flash our lights, I've seen a Silver one a couple times around Germantown Pike in Plymouth/East Norriton, think I noticed aftermarket wheels and maybe an exhaust, and I see a titanium on 73 in blue bell, I think some indian chick drives that one tho...

I rarely see others when I have my car and as soon as I am without it, I see them everywhere! Can't wait to get mine back

I've been so busy with work, but hell, who hasn't right!? I was battling and troubleshooting that misfire at low rpm issue for the last few months and recently had some clutch pedal issues. Things got so bad I almost got rid of it altogether, but was getting low-balled on appraisals because they felt the clutch problem.

Knowing I just had a spec clutch installed less than 10,000 miles ago, and that I wouldnt get a decent appraisal until the clutch was fixed, I decided to take it to Mazda for the clutch issues (they installed it) and figured I'd see if they could figure out the misfiring issue (I did all I could, plugs, coils, wires) so it was their turn. Luckily the car failed its compression test, Mazda approved a new engine for me, and since the engine will already be out, I wont have to pay for them to drop the transmission if the clutch issue isn't slave cylinder or clutch master related...

So, before taking it to mazda and knowing exactly what was wrong, i figured I had a few thousand dollars worth of repairs to do, and considered just trading it in. Now, I got the compression test and new engine for free, as well as a free look into the clutch and transmission, so I should be coming out of this under $500 and most importantly, keeping my car

Yep that was probably me! Getting a new engine.. cars been at North Penn for 3 weeks almost. Cant wait to get it back!

 

Just got mine back yesterday with new engine... new clutch as well. The car feels incredibly smooth, I can't believe I was driving it for so long with it feeling like a steaming pile of hot trash. Mine was in there for about 3 weeks as well... Kennedy Mazda in Conshohocken that is

 

This morning (Thursday June 23), about 8:30 am on Lancaster Ave. in Radnor, near the intersection of Lancaster and King of Prussia Road (at the Radnor Hotel), I saw you in the identical car to mine - a 2005-2007 red RX-8 Grand Touring, with spoiler and aero package. You were a very attractive blonde woman (meant as a sincere compliment!), I was on your right side at the light, tried to wave hi but you were busy texting (shouldn't do that while driving...). Are you on here?

 

Of course, while my 8 is getting a new engine @ MS mazda, I'm passing lots of 8s that I don't acknowledge. However, I saw a winning blue 8 with a huge spoiler in the Rowan football parking lot today around noon. Since it's modded, I'm guessing it may belong to someone on here?

 

I drive by there often and I haven't seen it! I'll have to keep a look out.

 

A guy with a nordic green 8 parked near us @ the Phillies game last night. Had NJ plates gymn8r.

 

Got a big wave from another blue in Westville today. Pennsy driver? No front plate.

 

Passed a Grey RX-8 with "OHMS LAW" plates northbound on the Blue Route yesterday on the way home from work...

So far I have had only 1 RX8 owner even acknowledge that another was around..and it was another LY.

Very strange..not at all like the Jeep and Harley crowds.

 

there are fewer rx8s in my area but when i wave, i get nothing most of the time

 

A friend of mine saw a "grey rx-8" in the south jersey area with the plates "frankiej" which is odd because my name is francis joseph - she asked if i had gotten new plates but I hadn't! Just wondering if anyone with the same name and car is driving around south jersey!

I'll keep my eyes out, Frank, but that one doesn't sound familiar. Ive seen several 8s in the past few weeks, but haven't been posting the sightings b/c when I post one...(play sound of crickets)......nothing back.
I guess we're not a friendly group.
My fun now is glaring at guys in other model sports cars & watching them glare back. Being a middle school teacher, I've perfected a mean glare!

Aw man Duke, that sucks. I've actually been getting a lot more waves than usual. There are a few guys around Bellmawr that always wave back (I usually initiate). one in particular is red with tinted windows that I believe lives right off the Creek Road exit. I see him quite often.

By the way, a friend of mine just got his windows tinted at Auto Magic and was very happy with it - I'll be heading over there to see your son in law eventually.

Saw two black 8's like mine last saturday,one in audubon and one in washington twp with wave backs,lol i usually flash,beep and wave at the same.......drivin with the knee.as for the red in bellmawr,i see it frequently myself.j.s.

 

I saw a black 8 at Deptford Mall last Thursday about 530ish, but I was in my wife's SUV so didnt wave. There was a dark-haired, young lady driving. ... and me without my 8 to beep at her!
