is there a diff between a hispanic and a latino, to me its the same ****!

 

to me hispanic and latino are the same ****, if you look in a dictionary they have the same definition : "people who got flavor, beautiful women and can party for weeks, " for more defenitions search under, carnavales, fiestas, quinciañeros, corona, churrasco, empanadas, arepas, ETC, ETC...

hispanic is the term used by the United States government to define the faction of people that originate from lower north, central and south American areas that were conquered by the Spanish conquistadors. Generally, it is a blanket word like calling a black man a negro.

Latino is the term used more "favorably" by the indigenous peoples of lower north, central, and south America to define themselves as originating from a romance language culture, but this term while it does still imply Spain's sovereignty it takes more of a lighter side because it is less associated with Spain and more associated with the language, and its roots.

Chicano refers to someone that is born in the USA that comes from Mexican herritage.

All the terms are buzzwords created by either the US government or European countries.

The best thing you can call a "hispanic" is an American. After all, they were here first.

europeans think up names to call the natives, just so they can take the native name of "American"

It would be akin to some dutch guy taking over africa, then renaming the natives, and calling himself "african"

we use to describe someone from the mountain, Like cuszo (machupicchu) or as to describe a peruvian Man. its a friendly term My family calls me sometimes that and chino since I have some chinky eyes.

In Peru: peasant or indian, in a somewhat degrading way because it implies being simple minded. Can also be used affectionately between friends.

In Peru it has no 'gangster' connotation.

friends: Que tal cholo! / Habla cholo!
insult: Mira el cholo bloqueando la calle con su burro!

its very nice but expensive as hell.

 

my mom went and she also says its pretty expensive, but definately worth it. Machu Picchu is also now officially one of the 7 wonders of the world or somethin like that. she got some video of when she was climbin the ancient city with a group of tourist and a guide. its pretty scary lookin cause the steps are steep as hell and if ur afraid of heights its even worse.
