Went to AC today to check out the blig blig cars. There were a few nice 8's there, but they weren't all tricked out. It seems that if you didn't have a bunch of tv monitors, you weren't cool. Nowadays, if you only have 2 monitors, just give up. One vette had a monitor where the front plate should be. A few were in the hood looking out. A few with 3 monitors on each door not to mention all over the dash. How much $$$$ can 1 person spend on crap. Sorry, but I just don't get it. I just like my 8 and enjoy DRIVING it. The girls were a nice diversion. Or were the girls the highlight and the cars a mere diversion?

 

i agree the monitors are getting out of hand.
there are alot of reasons i didnt go this yr.

 

if it wasn't for catching 2 t-shirts they threw out, eating a really good steak at Applebee's, and winning $10 at a casino, it would have been a total waste... i doubt I'll even go to another HIN


The one 8 against the wall had a really nice aluminum center console though... i liked it

 

hey i spotted someone coming back up parkway north from AC with a black RX-8 with a purple light in the back and veilside bodykit. loud exhuast. the driver was wearing a yellow hat. who was it??

i will get my pics up soon of the RX-8s. there were 3, one green, yellow, and titanium.

 

Yellow was me dude .... Titanium was the guy infront of me (totally stripped interior with nitrous) ... and the green was the bling bling kid with chrome rims ...


Of course there was a silver too .. it was AAS's ... he got stuck in the corner though for some reason, thought he woulda been in the AAS booth.

Oh ya .. I forgot to say ... Theres no way in hell any one on this whole site would have won anything ... God damn every car was nice there! they were overbooked too.... All the cars that won had atleast 20-30 grand spent on the car (not including the car itself) .... There were no ricers or crappy cars at this show ... pretty damn amazing ... even the judges themselves said it was the best show they ever had ....

Oh ya .. and the only mazda that won was one of the FD's (I have no idea which one) , which won best mazda

 

if an FD won I would have to guess it was the red one with the celica headlights... that thing was sweet

 

Hmmmz .. mite be the grey or half green silvery one .... theere were alot of nice FD's ... I stayed after for the awards ... it was ruled by domestic cars ... that corvette with the chromed out engine and 100 tv's and of course lambo doors stole the show ....

I think the FD that won was the one in the booth... that thing was pretty crazy.

That silver with the stripped interior was me. Sorry I didnt get a chance to talk to you. But im sure you were just as busy as me cleaning the car.

I guess I got it ready for nothing really now that i think about it. While the judge was looking over my car my alarm went off and I was disqualified. (Forgot to disconnect the battery)

I think I got disqualified too , anyone with the orange sticker got disqualified i'm pretty sure , didn't have time to finish all the mods I listed on the paper, didn't have my tein coil overs in , project mu brake pads and some other stuff , they noticed and DQ'ed me, I even put it on poster the current mods I had, but guess like they don't care. So thats 2 8's that got DQ'ed .... maybe they don't like 8's

Because project MU is one of the best...and they were given to me for the SEMA IAS show back in may.

BTW: The orange sticker does not mean you got disqualified. It means that a judge has already been around to look at your car.

 

I shot three hours of video at the HIN show with a digital camcorder, and will convert a lot of it to still images within the next few weeks. Most of those images will ultimately get onto either the Mazda Club (www.MSCW.com) or Rotary Revolution, LLC (www.rotaryrevolution.net) websites.

I edited a very short (and relatively tame) 8-minute version for the November 3rd MSCW meeting, as (1) the meeting agenda is pretty full with guest speakers and other issues already planned for the night, and (2) didn't think some of the members were quite ready for the full effect of HIN just yet. We'll break them in slowly!

The eyelids are made by EVOR. They have been on my car since June and they still look as good as the day they were put on. A very nice product!
