Hampton Roads Bar-b-cue @ Mt Trashmore - Sept 10th

I've been asked to put together another all car meet at Mt Trashmore. The last 2 have started around 11am or noon. If this is acceptable, my suggestion would be for Sept 10th - week after Labor Day....i hope that's right.

DETAILS:
Location - Mt Trashmore Virginia Beach
Date - Sept 10th
Time: 11am or noon
Clubs involved - all, hopefully

DONATIONS FOR HURRICANE KATRINA
To show our support, I'm going to setup a bucket (or bottle) so anyone interested can donate towards the support effort. this money will go to the Red Cross, hopefully before the event is over.

RAFFLE / GIVE-A-WAY
We are trying to get some of the businesses on the flyers to donate a raffle item to be given away at this event. We've already gotten some positive feedback about the idea. so, please sign up when you get there. also, there may/will be a seperate Raffle for a specific Mazda item(s).

FOOD:

DIRECTIONS:
Take RT64 to Norfolk/Virginia Beach
Take RT264 East to Virginia Beach
Exit Independence Blvd South (exit 17A), and move into far left lane - go 1/2 mile
Turn Left on Edwin Dr (at 7 Eleven), should see sign for Mt Trashmore

THIS EVENT COULD BE A BIT CROWDED, PLEASE SHOW UP EARLY IF YOU ARE ABLE TOO, SO WE CAN PARK TOGETHER!
WHERE WE ARE PARKING:
On Edwin Dr, we should be able to park in the 1st parking lot on the right. This lot is in front of the hill from Independence Blvd, on the west (left) side of the lake. If for some reason we can't park in those spots or you don't see us, please call me.
If it becomes too crowded, we'll park on the left side of Edwin Dr at the end of the road....hopefully it's available.

I realize this is almost 1 month away, but I am trying to get us some visibility out of this. I've asked Hall Mazda if they want to participate - bring out the new MX5/whatever. I've asked some of the guys from the Ford Focus group if they want to attend - just need to add something to their forums.

If anyone has any other ideas, that would be great too.

so far there has been alot of interest from other clubs and businesses. It looks like we are going to be holding a raffle, Dan and I are getting some of the businesses on the flyer to donate gift certs or whatever.

still need to hear who's bringing what for food.

also, there's a meet over here in Norfolk at ODU on Sept 3rd - next Saturday.

Okay folks, tomorrow is the big day. So far I have gotten word back from quite a few people that are bringing their respective clubs (VW, Acura, Honda, Toyota, Subaru).

I was unable to get a message out to any of the Mitsu EVO owners. If you know of anyone that owns one, please remind them of this event.

Provided this event turns out to be as great as expected, I will try to put one more of these together before the end of the year. It is possible this will be an indoor event if we can get the funding. And quite possibly will happen 1 week before or after Halloween.

The event was a blast, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Hopefully there will be one more before the end of the year.

What would be a good date for another event - 1 week after Halloween?
