In case anyone is interested, the New England folks in the Mazda 6 forums are organizing a drive up Mt. Washington with just Mazdas - no one else allowed on the road! RX-8s are welcome to join, of course.

actually i wouldnt mind doing this, im sure i could convice 2 other friends of mine with rx8's to come with me.

 

I would like to get invloved in this some how. I actually have raced up the mountain (in my Audi) in the Mt. Washington Climb to the Clouds. I know the owners of the road and would love to bring up the racecar and have some fun with others as well.

Please send me contact info on whom may be organizing this. We should definetly get an RX8 get together organized as well. Looks like June of 2013??

Definitely going to keep this on my radar screen. I am only a hour away, but always enjoy driving up the Kangamangus. Hope to see other RX-8 coming.

Morning Guys - Thanks for showing interest in the meet. All the info is in that thread posted above.

If you'd like to know anything or have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know. I've spoken to a few guys who I know with Rx8's and they seemed iffy about it.

We've booked June 8th (Saturday) for the meet. We will meet at the base of the mountain some time earlier in the day, probably have our own BBQ, and then head up to the top of the mountain for the sunset.

I talked to Howie (GM of the road) tonight and he said I could bring up the race car and drive it up as long as the Mazda guys didn't mind! Looking into getting time off of work to make it.

Byakuya please pm me if you have any issues with me bringing it up. I don't want any meatballs to think we are racing just because a race car shows up! See my profile for pics of the car. All lettering and so forth will be on it. I will probably bring my camper with the wife and kids, not bringing the big enclosed trailer though. Also I can try to score Dunlop swag if you let me Display a set of the new Dunlop Direzza ZII and answer questions about them.

That's awesome, Steve! We'd love for you to show up with whomever you want. And don't worry, we are NOT tolerating ***-hatery, as stated in the climb etiquette. Also, the mountain officials lead us up the mountain and have very strict guidelines

Since my car # is 50 I was hoping to be the 50th person to register but I am registered anyway! My crew chief Randy and his wife are bringing the rx8 racecar up! Please feel free to go over, say hi, check out the car and even sit in it and picture yourself racing around your favorite track!

Is your car blue and green I think I saw it being towed behind a rv a few weeks ago I was in my 8 silver with black wheels red tails think I beeped and waved looked good if it was yours can't wait to see it

 

That's awesome, Steve. I saw the registration come in yesterday. We got a big burst of registrants over the last week, we're approaching 60 now. This is going to be awesome!

Also, I'd love to check out the Rx8 in full at the meet. I've allotted plenty of "Show and Tell" time after we eat and do the raffle, so there will be lots of time to gawk and take pictures

Morning Everyone!

For those of you skeptical about the weather for the climb tomorrow - 10% chance of rain in the AM and it's all clear until late that night. We're having this thing!

Also, there's a convoy meeting up at the Longhorn in Manchester, NH at 9:00AM tomorrow. We leave AT 9. We're heading straight up to the base of the mountain - if you come with us you're going to be sitting around for a while FYI - we're getting there early to set stuff up. If you want to meet up with the group doing the Kanc cruise, that's at the Hobo Railroad in Lincoln, NH - Arrivals are between 12 and 1. Departure at 1 for the base.
