Good Shop Bad Shop

Hello Northeast,
I thought I'd start a thread to tap into the collective experience of the members here for the benefit of others (like me ).

Would you be kind enough to share your experiences with good and bad shops in our area? I'll be happy to update a list with all the submissions.

Good Body Shop: list (business name, city, state)
Bad Body Shop: list (business name, city, state)

Good General Repair Shop: list (business name, city, state)
Bad General Repair Shop: (business name, city, state)

Good Hi-Performance Shop: list (business name, city, state)
Bad Hi-Performance Shop: (business name, city, state)

It would be great if you can elaborate what you had done in each shop.

Good Body Shop: Paul's Executive Car Care, Manchester, NH
Bad Body Shop: list (business name, city, state)

Good General Repair Shop: Ballistic Motorsports, Manchester, NH
Bad General Repair Shop: (business name, city, state)

Good Hi-Performance Shop: Ballistic Motorsports, Manchester, NH
Bad Hi-Performance Shop: (business name, city, state)

It would be great if you can elaborate what you had done in each shop.
I took my car to Paul's to have the coffee removed from my leather seat. Paul is excellent to work with. He also sells cars - my husband bought his late MR2 Spyder there. (We since sold it.)

Scott at Ballistic is incredible. Both my cars are N/A, but if I were going to mod, Scott is who I would trust the job with. Previously employed at a shop where he did stereo installs, automatic starters and such, about two years ago he ventured out on his own and is now booking two months out. It has been a very successful time for him.

I don't really know of any bad shops anymore. There was one on Rte. 3 in Pembroke, but it's under new ownership now, so it may have improved. I haven't been there since it got bought out.

Hope this helps! Will your list be posted here? I'll keep an eye out for it!

Not exactly close, but worth going to if you have an extra car:

Good Body Shop: Danny's Auto Body, Deer Park, NY

I have had tons of body work and paint done there (previous show cars), and recommended a lot of Celica owners (my last car) there who also give this place high reviews. Great for custom work.

Good Audio Shop: Audio XTC, Deer Park, NY

Former partner/co-owner. I worked with them for 2 years. Kenny is the main installer/design mind there and is a great guy. Also sell performance parts etc.

Good general repair shop: South Main Service, Concord, NH

I take all my vehicles there, including my company truck. Honest & professional.
They'll bend over backwards for you.

I mostly have a good experience at Danvers IRA Mazda in Mass. I go in for oil changes every now and then. They do take about 45 - 1hr for the service but have the feeling that they put care into what they do. The service rep Rich there is very knowledgable on the 8's and is straightforward on all my questions.
