Gas milage in philly?
Does anyone on here live completely in the city and drive ur 8 as ur daily driver?
If so how many miles per full tank do you get? I have been lucky to get anywhere around 150 miles per full tank of all city miles. I already changed my wires, coils, and plugs and nothing helped much. Any ideas? this isnt something i can search because most of the milage people get is not fully city miles...mine is. thanks. |
dude, stop gunning it. Coast. I drive in and out of the city to temple's campus. The name of the game is adapting to the traffic patterns. If you had a Cobb Accessport you can see your MPG...ever since I started watching my MPG...i've gained +20mi to a tank.
tl;dr - stop gunning it from light to light |

I agree. 150 miles is a little extreme. I get at least 250 miles. Sometimes, it can be 270-280.

I get around 250 on a full tank on 87 and pre mixing, I think autos eat a little more gas dough... Here is an idea sell your car and buy mines, :) think about it and let me know

you all suck. I get 170mi if im lucky...but i've got compression loss...so yea...

i usually get 225 until my light comes on, so i guess is around 250 and %50 of my driving is highway miles (route 309)

least for me I am pretty much 50/50 and I push 300 before the light comes on and thats with messing around. Though I don't do any short trips with my car. |
I get ~200 a tank commuting to work.

My commute is 27 miles total one way. 40% of which are in town with the possibility of getting stopped at 100 lights. the rest is all 60+ mph driving. I think I get kinda lucky in the morning as the lights are timed pretty well so I don't get stuck at very many of them.
I also don't slam the gas when the light turns green or brake a lot. I can normally manage very little braking and just drift to slow down and such. I honestly don't screw around a lot and I try to keep it in 6th as long as I can even if it takes me forever to accelerate. I still redline it once or twice a day and towards the end of the tank, I start messing around more. It really is all just in the way you drive and the type of driving you do. Maybe it is a lesson I just can't give up after dealing with the 4+ dollars a gallon and trying to push the most MPG out of the car that I can (though I didn't own the 8 when gas was $4) |
If decarbing it will help I have never done it before.
