As we all know, its often hard to get to a track, but there are some nice twisties out there for our free enjoyment. Many come at exits/onramps. Ofcourse this isn't about racing, just finding some fun curves.

I live in the DC Metro area, some of mine are:

Coming off Memorial Bridge onto GW Parkway south, nice tight 2 lane hairpin, usually can get an exit speed of around 55 , w/0 using both lanes/ real apex.

Exiting I=66 Westbound, to the FFx county parkway (7100) south towards Springfield. another long sharp turn, and a very wide exit that lets me get my exit speed way up (and pull away from those tailgating suvs in a hurry)....

im sure there's many more out there!

rt 50 east(?) (away from annapolis) take the exit for Rt. 2 North Ritchie Highway just after the Severn River bridge. its a 3 lane exit that slopes upward to the left and makes 270 degree turn, then directly into a 45 degree turn the opposite way. it goes from highway to highway to high speed is pretty safe. WATCH FOR SLOW TRAFFIC the turn is pretty blind, and impossible in the rain! ive gone about 70+ (i wouldnt recomend looking at the speedo) around it late at night, and my car was reaching its limit even when i started on the outside lane and took the inside corner lane to get through it. LOTS of fun...

97 south take the exit for benfield road west (i think) towards Severna Park. its a looong complete 270 degree sloping upward to the right. its two lanes so you can continue to pass cars as you are going through it. this is my favorite because you can continue to accellerate as you are going through the turn. BE CAREFUL, go SLOW (below 60) into the turn because it is quite sharp in the begining. ive gone VERY fast through this exit before, but i drive on it everyday so i know what to expect. if your going fast enough you will get whipped back into shape when you come out of the exit, lots of fun. theres a light about 1/4 mile after you come out of it, so slow down and watch for cops (that goes without saying).

Exit 6 on 287 South in NJ. Also getting on 287 N from exit 6. Awesome tight turns. I hit 73 mph on the way out of exit 6 getting on 287 N. What a RUSH!!!

im defiantely down. theres also New Cut Road in Columbia thast supposed to be really good. ive never been but i always hear people talking about it. supposidly people have DIED driving on that road... not cool, but damn that things got to be curvey.

we should all roll into the Benfield Rd exit off of 97 South together at like 40mph, and just nail it going up the turn... we'll see who can make it to the top first...

i have some friends (two modded FC's, two s2000's, an Audi A4S, two modded 350z's, an STi, and a IS300) that im sure would like to join in on some high speed manuvers. DANomite, we should get a Severn/ Severna Park area car meet going on...

New Cut Rd isn't the curviest road ever, but it's got some good solid twists to it. I think the reason it's so dangerous is that it's slightly downhill and very densely covered by trees. Not only does that make for a lot of blind corners it keeps the road wet longer after it rains since the sun can't get to it as easily. Just do it during the day at a off-peak time when it's completely dry and you'll be fine.

Also, I don't want anyone to get this idea that it's the best road ever constructed or they'll be disappointed. Just a fun and unique road.
