Anyone living in the Connecticut area? Around Hartford?

 

i live about 1 hour and 30 minutes away from hartford why?

 

Trying to find people around the area who have 8's, maybe meet up sometime share knowledge.

 

i see well if you have a advance notice i'll show up if i'm not working that day and i have gas of course! even if i have the 8 or not still

I'm in CT. Danbury area. My weekends are taken for the next couple months (I know I'm whipped ), but we can keep in touch so when I do have some time...

I haven't seen too many 8s around. Saw a blue one in Hartford when I was on the way to Boston a few weeks ago (we were in my wife's Passat). I saw a red one with NY plates last week down here. I got mine in Derby, at Dworkin. I'm looking at getting snow tires soon. any ideas?

I've been trying to find some people around Hartford over the past summer, not many responses from owners around the Hartford area. I'd like to get something going though at some point, let me know if you have any ideas, before the snow starts to take over.

 

One idea we've used with my BMW friends is a Saturday morning breakfast at Goldroc diner, right off I-84 at the Hartford/West Hartford line. We meet about 8:30 or so, and exchange car stories, as well as ogling the assembled (in this case RX-8) cars.

 

Mine's black, 6 speed, touring, sunroof.

I've read a bunch, and I've been to tirerack and seen their "recommeded" package: Kazera KZ-V wheels and Bridgestone Blizzaks WS-50s. I'm not thrilled with the wheels - I wanted something closer to the OEM look. For the tires, the LM-22s look better, but they're more $.

 

I've got a black 6spd as well, no sunroof though. I've looked around a lot of websites at their rims, i'm interested in black ones, these are my favorites so far. Have you done anything to the engine?

That might have been me you saw. I live in Boston and frequently travel to Hartford for business. I'm only 82 miles from Hartford, i can meet whenever you guys want!

 

i'm not one for organizing, far too much goin on right now, but if something is going on I will be there.

RPIRX-8, haven't taken the 8 to Boston recently. We usually take my wife's Passat. I will be up there Monday (25Oct) tho. Keep an eye out. I've got a lot of Zaino on, so sometimes black looks dark gray. I'm near Danbury, further south.

Saturday, Oct 16, 11am, New Milford. on 7 near the high school, winning blue with spoiler (appearance pkg?) you were taking a left. I gave a thumbs up. I was in the passenger seat of my wife's purple Passat. Ring any bells?

We took a trip up to Vermont (Ben & Jerry's, but mostly for the ride up - our fall foliage tour). I really wanted to drive my 8, but we took 7 and 100 so it took 6 hours, and it was raining part way, so I'm glad we took her's. Next year though...

edit: oh yeah, no engine mods yet. got my eye on the Canzoomer unit when I have the $.

 

I just bought a black, touring package, 6m 8. Love this car. Want to do somethings to it without getting too carried away. Live just outside Springfield Ma. Let me know if you guys get together.

 

I purchased my rx-8 on July 3rd. To date I've seen only three in th Waterbury area. Would like to see more , mine is velocity red with the sports touring package. I have it garaged for the winter,do not like the way it handles in the snow.

 

Look around the forum for winter tires. Any car would not perform well with the summer stockers. I don't have to deal with snow anymore, but from what I've heard the 8 is well-behaved with decent snow tires.
