I was wondering if there is anyone in the New York City/Long Island area who has a compression test machine, or knows someone who can?

Try contacting forum member NYCGPS. I believe he has a comp tester, which he'll rent out.

 

I got the PM. well, I will reply again.

I do it for a small fee, if you are due for Spark Plug change, I can just swap it in for you.
