Great fun guys! I made it to the gas station. 290 miles on that tank - a new record for me! A whopping 22mpg!

MD has it now - still haven't heard from them. I got a CX-9 as a loaner - with 340 miles on the clock! That thing's a boat! Oh well, better than the usual crap I get.

I'll post some pics tonight if I'm not too embarassed. Good job you other guys!

That's what happens when you're only running one rotor!

Seriously though, I hope it's something minor and they get you squared away quick Jeff. Let us know the diagnosis.

CX-9, Motor Trend's "2007/8 SUV of The Year"!! I drove one a couple weeks back and liked it alot. Maybe my next family truckster???

Good times as usual.

I think that I have a record 300+ "what used to be" bugs on the front of my car. All worth it though for a great drive. Especially, since I got to whip the backend around a few times during the day. Feels good to push the car hard. It's a shame that it doesn't happen more often.

RA-Eight 10-23-2007 12:18 PM

Oh man, it was the best way to wrap up the season! I'm glad we were able to get together.

My pics didn't come out too well, unfortunately. I'll post them up soon.

On another note, the car is going in to Byers for it's final warrantied visit. I'm glad you guys mentioned something, because another week, and I'd be out of luck!

Huhwha 10-24-2007 07:32 AM

Finally got it back. They never bothered to call me to update me or let me know it was ready, so they get yet another failing grade. Maybe I'll file a complaint with MNAO and see if that gets their attention.

Anyway, they replaced an oxygen sensor. It seems better, but the weather has not been conducive to fully "test" it. Hopefully I'm good to go.

I'll try to get my pics up tonight.

darn warranty

dunno if you guys saw my post in the tech forum, my warranty ran out 7 days ago, and now my car is eff'd up. The ABS light wont turn off (and the ABS is no longer working), and the ASR light is staying on (and also not functioning), as well as my cruise control. what a kick in the balls isnt it. Have to take it in to Byeres monday:( and pay out of pocket.

well on the bright side, no warranty means a turbo has nothing to void:-) now gotta find some money. (and find a way the wife wont find out)

kellybrf 10-25-2007 11:20 PM

that sucks man. i have to say i was impressed with ricart, id suggest talking to them and see if they can help you out

success07 11-19-2007 09:26 AM

Good to see you too Alex.

I knew it was you right a way because of the license plate.

Just up in C-Bus to do a little shopping? Is school out yet?

steven000e 11-19-2007 08:40 PM

Hello Folks
I just have a question!
Does any body in Columbus have experience on tuning a greddy turbo emanage ultimate?
I have run into a problem... my car is currently at the rx7 store but they are having a hard time tuning the car.....
Let me know if you can help
Thanks

alphapenguin 11-19-2007 09:10 PM

Hey Anthony,
I am back in columbus now, moved back in Sept doing my Rotations at the hospitals.

few more years, make some money, then I can finally try to make my car look almost as nice as yours. My friend was impressed with your wheels et al.
School will be out in 1.5 more years. Then 3+years more depending on which way I go. soo.... it seems I will be in school forever.

steven000e, I've never had any experience so it probably doesnt help you, but your post makes me have second thought about getting a turbo kit (not like I could afford one anyway).

Hey All,

My name is Will. I'm new to the Club!! Just got my 8 on 11/01/07.

Hope to get to know some of you and rely on your expertise!!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Groundrush 11-20-2007 06:56 PM

Hiya Will. Welcome to our little group of local owners. :)

Details about your car? Pics? You can see several of ours by checking out Anthony's (Success07) link above. Word of warning...be prepared to drool over Anthony and Ra's cars.

Whereabouts are you located?

BigWillieStyle 11-21-2007 03:36 AM

Hey G-Rush!

I don't have many details to add about my 8 just yet. I have been purchasing lights to do an upgrade from the yellows and taking the amber out of the clears. Oh yeah, bought clear front corner/side markers, not installed yet. I also have a full audio upgrade purchased, just trying to figure out where/how to mount a 12" sub and an amp in the trunk and still make the trunk functional.

How often do you guys get together? Or are the gatherings exclusive?

Talk to you soon!!

Nice color, but maybe I'm biased...I have a SS too!

The gatherings aren't exclusive...someone typically steps up and says "Hey! We should get together soon and have lunch!", and it sort of snowballs from there. Anyone is welcome to come along. There have been at least two meets that I've been to this year (but I think there were more). Not sure if there will be anything soon with the holidays coming and all though...perhaps the rest of the gang can chime in.

As for your system, I recently saw a guy who had installed his sub in the space immediately behind the rear seat in the trunk, and had fabricated a box that fit into the recess in the floor trunk. The amp sat there, and it had hinged sides that folded out and fit the contour of the trunk bottom. Very slick, but he had previous experience as an audio installer. I bought my Hiros from him and he offered to sell me the full setup, but the wife wouldn't have it, so I had to pass. Besides...I'm old and the Bose is fine for me. :)

BigWillieStyle 11-22-2007 12:59 AM

Hey Bro, I'm old too!! LOL! Or at least I feel like an old man. I just turned 33 on Monday! OUCH!!

Well, if the group allows for newbies that's cool! The next time something is put together and I'm free, I'd love to come out and hang.

I've always installed all my own stereo systems, but just trying to figure out how to do a sharp install without going the fiberglass route.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
God Bless!!!

Huhwha 11-22-2007 07:58 AM

Welcome aboard Will!

Winter is tough for meets as some folks hibernate their cars then. Others of us slap on the snows and have at it, so if we get some decent weather, we're always up for some fun. It would almost certainly be a last minute thing though.

Pencil in the weekend of June 20-22. This is the Rolex race at Mid-Ohio. We went this year to cheer on the 3-rotor RX-8s and had a blast! I havent found the exact date of the race yet, but it's that weekend.

Speaking of Mid-Ohio, if you're up for driving on the track, we will try to get back to it next year. Circumstances made us miss this year, but Brian (kellybrf) and I went a year ago July and has a blast!

Leaf-peeping in the Hocking Hills seems to have been quite popular (see posts above), so I would plan on that again.

All that said, we're always open to suggestions. Just chime in, it's very informal.

In any case, Happy Thanksgiving to all!

success07 11-22-2007 08:21 AM

Welcome Will,

I'm 34 soooo.............you're not old and neither are you Brian!!!

I have a full JBL custom set up in my trunk (one amp, one 12" sub) and you can take a look at it any time. I'm actually looking to change my setup because of some recent suspension upgrades hence part of the setup is no longer in the car, so maybe you can save your self alot of time and just take mine!!

The Bose just leaves a little bit to be desired for me, so I need to add that tiny bit extra to satisfy my tastes.

If this weather continues to be like it is maybe a meet might be in order. What was it, 63 degrees the last two days......ridiculous for this time of year. Not that I mind though. :)

Happy Turkey Day, All!
