Central NJ local meets on Thursday Nights
unfortunately that guy from manville can't make it out that weekend, 2 reasons, one the car isn't running at this point in time and i've got my uncles 40th suprise party that day, hopefully i'll be able to make the next one
i ordered coils, plugs and wires and they should be in on monday, i figure mine are original and i've got almost 70000 out of them, thats my first step, if its not that then it will be going to mazda to hopefully get a new engine before my warranty expires, i'll let u guys know how i make out
just saw 2xgoose on Rt 202 southbound 6:45pm ... I think I saw the "R" tag on the visor, you go to Rutgers?
Too cold nowadays for a meet, but I can go for some food one of these days.
I need to install rear shocks/springs but the DIY looks like a PITA ... anyone know of a local place who knows the 6?

What has Mike been up to? I think he mentioned he used Clinton Car care services on Rt 31, how are they?
In case anyone is interested in sushi (yeah I know wrong thread) - there is a sushi buffet place on Rt 10 Parsippany, Minado's, a bit pricy but worth it if you go there like starvin' marvin.

Due to the wonderful weather this past weekend, I got my rear shocks (Bilstein) installed - 6 months after I bought the thing, hehe. The only thing left now is the rear springs - didn't have the time this go-around, although it's supposed to be an easy swap. My hands got all cut up from the sharp metal edges. I put on the snow tires and I'm ready to head up to VT pretty soon.
I usually hit up Fridays or Applebees after 10pm on Fridays, because it's $3 pints and 1/2 price appetizers.

yeah I know, just that it started getting dark as well as a few old geezers in my condo started talking crap about how I shouldn't be working on the car in the lot (even though there is no such regulation). It was easier to smile like Isuzu trooper Joe and apologize saying that I'll be finishing early.
Ok, I think the shock mount has come loose and it's making a loud knocking noise when I drive
Removing it is a pain because there is almost no clearance in the wheel well to get it out.
I know what to do, but the problem is that I do not have the proper tools to get it done myself. Metric sockets, socket extender, u-joint, etc. (My friend lent me a hand & his tools to do this 2 weeks ago... but he lives far away.) So in about an hour I am going to Midas on Rt 31 to have them work on it with my guidance. I hope they don't give me crap about hanging around in the shop while we do this.
I'm hoping I have no issues with the shop. Otherwise, is there someone here who has a set of tools I can borrow? I can take a half a day off from work to get this fixed, if I can't get it resolved today with Midas.
Let you know the status later on. tx

edit status: ok so I got back from the shop. It was what I suspected, the bolt that holds the shock on the top mount was loose. No more clunking noise, yay. The mechanic was friendly enough.
All in all it's a learning process. It's like when I used to take apart my pc all the time and upgrade various things one at a time ... sometimes things don't work the first time around :D
