Central NJ local meets on Thursday Nights
And the 90 miata is 900 lbs lighter than the rx-8. Wrap your head around that: 900 pounds. And Chris, why do you think I'm looking @ the lightest miata? Cuz when you put me in it, weight 100 lbs more than u, it will still handle better than the heavier miata
Actually, a lighter car built with components that take advantage of that weight will be more adversely affected by a heavier driver given that the driver makes makes up a larger percentage of the total mass. Also, the newer miata may benefit from advancements in chassis design made in the last 18 years.
The highest curb weight I have seen on a GT Rx-8 has been 3075 lbs vs. the hardtop's 2575.

you probably weigh more now that Chris is held together with play-dough and popsicle sticks.
That's what I have, but the Miata is an underpowered '93 with 6.5-lb wheels and about 100 lbs lighter than stock. Now that it's no longer my DD, also thinking about taking out the AC. Lightweight is good. Fun car. Underpowered by today's standards but still handles better than my 8 on the "mountain" roads around here.
