Not an owner YET!

Hi,
Nice Rx8!
I live in Ct and have been closely looking at the new RX8.
I am concerned about some of the engine issues I have read in the other forums. What have you heard and what do you think about them?
Since you bought your RX8, any regrets(about the car, or about options?)
COngrats again!

Bought my Velocity Red 8 with everything but the Nav in October '03...No regrets!! A smile on my face every time I'm in it...Just not in the snow...

no regrets

I don't have regrets buying the car.. My suggestion would be to wait till Spring... I am having hard time finding 18" snow tires...
What engine issues are u talking about

I love this car! Traded in a TT Quattro with absolutely no regrets.

The weird thing is that I have had the car since September and only seen one other 8 on the road - on 95 south of New Haven.

I am in Fairfield; where are all you guys!

Right now, my RX-8 is in Southington. I wouldn't advise driving one in the snow. I was out the other morning when a quick 1/2 inch fell and found myself spinning all over the place. Even at a slow speed, the back end kept sliding out. What was normally a "glued to the road" car, easily slid on a little bit of snow. I quickly returned to the house to get in the Durango. That's the last time my RX-8 will see the white stuff!!

Not me... I don't get down to BPT too often and besides, my 8 is velocity red with a spoiler and 18's. Like I said before, you won't see mine much during the winter white stuff on the roads. When I am out, its usually in the central part of CT...take care and zoom, zoom, zoom!!

The titanium was my second choice color. A very nice looking ride!! The black is also very sharp, but a tough color to keep clean. If I owned a car wash or had nothing to do but keep my RX8 clean, I might have opted for black. All and all, I'm happy with my velocity red! I couldn't have chosen the car without actually seeing the color in person.

In the time that this cars been out ive only seen 2 out on the road or in a parking lot.

Ive seen that yellow one here in BPT to, that guys all over the place. The only other one that I saw was a blue one parked at the University of New Haven while I was working there.

I guess sales havent been incredibly great here in CT.

I live in Boston but end up in and around the Hartford area for business quite a bit (was just there from Sunday-Wednesday).

I wanted yellow so bad, but couldn't find one anywhere near NE.

I haven't visited this forum in awhile, so I guess it's time to say Hi.
I live in Ridgefield. I got my black 8 from Dworkin last August. I love it. I have a protege that I'm using when it snows - I'll get the winter tires next year. Nice car cptmorgan.

Holy crap this was an old thread. Anyway: Hamden, BC Shinka (the original Shinka). I have seen many more 8s this year: Silver or Grey (can't remember) in North Haven S&S plaza, Winning Blue at TMC in Durham, 2 Silvers and a Copper Red driving around Hamden, a Green in Waterbuy, BB in Branford...

Quite a few for RX-8s. I suppose few or none are on this board though.

I just moved to Manchester a couple weeks ago from SoCal...I've only seen a couple 8's out here. Funny, there are a lot more of them in California!

^ I go to Uconn once a week during the semester and I have seen none up there. I go to John Harvards (in Manchester) quite a bit after Uconn. Did see a Lotus Exige up there though. Quick little bastards.

Nice, I'm in an apartment pretty much right down the street from John Harvards until we close on our house in September

Brilliant. I'll let you know the next time I'm going to John Harvard’s so I can view your heavily accessorized 8 sometime. Probably late August.

I’ve done little to my car. I’ll have some pics up somewhere after I get it back from the body shop (rear ended).

Cool, lemme know for sure. I haven't actually seen the inside of a shinka...other than looking in the windows of one at the dealership the other day. Most of my mods are exterior stuff....the only non-exterior piece is my AEM CAI. I'm dreading having to put it in the garage all winter though! No more driving 12 months a year!

^ Congrats and welcome (color, year?) You'll have to show up at John Harvards as well.

To j67345: I'll be there for sure its just a matter of when (it will be on most Friday nights after 7:00 likely). Why were you looking at Shinka's the other day? Trading up? Getting another 8 for a winter car?
