Baltimore area: Go with TireRack or stay local?

Hello everyone.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to get tires in the Balto area...and get a good deal in the process? Now, I'm not looking to go cheap. I just don't want to pay retail! I was looking at buying the Bridgestone RE050A Pole Positions or the Yokohama AVS Sport from the TireRack, but would like to go local if possible.

I called several Firestone/Bridgestone dealers in the area, but not only did any of them have the Pole Positions in stock, they were all quoting prices way above $200/per tire...just for the tire!

Any suggestions or thoughts on different tire choices would be great...thanks!

You realize, of course, that you can order from TireRack and they'll "drop ship" the tires to a dealer near you—ordering from TireRack doesn't necessarily mean having to schelp your new tires to a dealer for installation, if that's what you're thinking.

But you probably already know this.

Yup...know about the drop ship option. Just was wondering if anyone local was as cheap or could price match the Rack. Probably not likely...but had to ask.

Go tire rack and may I suggest the Nitto 555 tire. Its a damn good high performance tire (Z Rated). My boy owns a set and I am about to order some myself once I wear down my current tires a little more.

If you want the nitto's though the cheapest I was able to find was 133.00 per tire at discount tire direct which is pretty damn good! http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...csr=*&x=24&y=1
