Autocross this Sunday with Renegade Miata (7/6) at Devens, MA
If anyone is interested in trying autocross, come join me and James (Greenblurr93) at the Renegade Miata autocross event this Sunday, July 6th.
Renegade Miata club is open for membership to all Mazdas. $25/yr and you can sign up on the spot. So your first day will be $35 for the autocross event and $25 for the membership.
(If you a member of Mass Miata Club, North Country Porsche Club, SCCA or Boston BMWCCA, you don't need to become a Renegade Miata member, but the autocross event cost is $5 more).
There will be instructors to ride with you (the entire time, if you like), as well as loaner helmets available.

The event is located at near Ayer, MA, directions are in the link above.
Your car must be free of loose stuff, leave anything that's not bolted down at home. Bring sunscreen. Bring lunch so you don't have to leave to buy one during the break.
It's an all day event, gates opening at 7am and the event going until about 4:30pm. If you get there for 7:30-7:40am, chances are pretty good that you will get in easily without pre-registration. If you show up at 8:30am, the event may be full and you may not be able to get in.
If anyone is interested in coming and has any questions, please post and I'll answer the best I can! I promise you will have a ton of fun.
James and I went to the last one on June 28th and it was a blast.
You will get at least 6 runs, though 7 or 8 are more likely.
P.S.
For those that do show up, please please please be supercareful in Ayer (once you get off the highway) and drive exactly the speed limit in town and on the road leading up to the base. The local police knows that a car club uses the Devens runways every weekend in the summer and they are out in full force! Also, if the club catches you speeding or doing anything stupid, you'll get booted quick. Seriously.

This picture is from an autocross school at the Devens, MA site. What you can't see is the wide ****-eating grin.
You will get to corner at max tire capacity (and beyond), it's very safe (the worst that happens is you hit cones and have to clear up the cone mark with some bug and tar remover or clay) and you'll feel great about yourself as you improve on your times and really get it right throughout the day.
