Talking Anyone in southern Delaware area

Hey all, just picked up my RX-8 on Monday, and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wanted to say hi and see if anyone was in my area on here. Already have the AEM CAI on the way and just need a day off to put in the alarm and remote start. Have many more mods and upgrades planned. I will post pics and what not when I get the cai, next is springs, and probably gonna do the alpine piece (when it comes available) so i can do my sirius and video through the factory nav screen.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Yeah, I love the car. I am all the way in southern Delaware (Rehoboth Beach and Milford area), though I make it up to the Newark, DE area all the time to see friends and family. I was looking at leftover 04 in yellow from Nucar, but they wouldnt work with me on the price, so i actually found one down in Fredericksburg, VA.

Well, according to AEM's website, the CAI for the 8 is not released yet, but according to my buddy at my old job, AEM does have the unit available. His distributor does not have one in stock, but they are having one drop shipped to the shop directly from AEM.

The AEM part number is 21-485, has a pending status according the their website, and has a street price of 440.00. I'll be posting as soon as I get it and hopefully doing a write up and pictures when I install it. I'm also gonna try to get my other buddy to help me out as he works at another tuning shop and they have a dyno-pac and I would like to do before and after pulls to see where we end up.

I still have a good relationship with my old job, so I can get fairly good prices on most anything. If anyone is looking for stuff, drop me a line and let me know what you want, and I can try and get you a price.

I exist in Bear. Not sure I can actually consider it 'living'. I commute an hour into NJ daily.

Tell me about the yellow at NuCar - that's actually the one that my g/f test-drove last July, but wound up buying a yellow with touring package only from another dealer (Costco discount :D). I've been eyeing that yellow one recently because of the discount, but would want to get it for yet less than they're advertising it. It hasn't had all of the TSBs done, and has been hanging around doing test-drives since '03..... What experience did you have trying to negotiate for it?

i live in the milford area in southern delaware. i called em up and told em i was seriously looking to buy, already had financing taken care of, asked em what their best price was on the car. said the 27k and change was best price, said thank you have a nice day. ended up finding a slightly used 04 with 7200 on the odo down in va, fully loaded (see sig), they were asking 26500, got it for 26000, including tax and tags with my trade in. got 1400 for my pos 93 civic. long drive but well worth the 185 mile trip. plus it was certified so i get an extra 12 month/12000 mile warranty.

woo hoo

I've been trying to deal with one of the sales guys via email, and he keeps being non-responsive to my questions about financing pre-approval with Mazda Credit. Clearly, the want me to come in and jump through the hoops rather than making an internet deal.

If your talking about NuCar in Newcastle...I did everything via email and my sales guy faxed me a credit app, I filled it out and faxed it back.....it was a no hassle situation....I mail them a check as deposit......it took a total of an hr to do all the paper work when I picked up the car......it was great.....his name is Joe Buccos.....his email is JBUCCOS@NUCAR.COM
you can tell him I sent ya......

I have had some bad experience from NuCar in the past, not with sales but service. I had purchased a use s-10 pickup back in like 96, and within a month had issues with it leaking coolant. took it in to have it serviced no problem. then like 3 months later i need to get it inspected (i dont know whats up with that as i had only gotten the car 4 months previous and i thought that the car was tagged for a year, but it was my first purchase by myself) but anyway, took it through and it wouldnt pass emissions. went and put octane booster and premium in and took it through. same thing. took it to the dealer (nucar) and told them what was going on and told them i thought it was the cat as there was a rattling sound coming from there. they said well look at it and go from there. they ended up keeping the car for 2 days, replaced spark plugs, redid the intake manifold gasket, and retarded the timing way back, (and it still didnt pass emissions, and ended up costing me like 300 bucks even though i had the extended warranty) so i went to their parts dept, bought a universal cat that they had in stock for like 100, then took it to midas to have it welded on. what do you know, it passed emissions with flying colors. so i take it back to have the timing reset back to stock and ask what was up about getting some money back on the work i had to pay for that i shouldnt have. um, NO!!! anyway a month later im going to change the oil, and i cant get the hood open, wont pop. so i take it back to them because they were the last ones to work on it and get em to fix, and they tell me that it looks like "someone hit something" on the front end and pushed the support with the hood latch on it in, and it took em like 4 hours to get it open and try and adjust it but no luck. said they would have to take it to their body shop and it would cost like 85 an hour to fix, est 4 hours. said no thanks and went home. then i spent like 20 minutes on the ground under it adjusting the latch and never had another problem with the hood. talk about a great service dept.
