Glad to meet someone around my area with an 8. I just picked mine up Tues night. I bought the Brillant Black with red leather, GT package, NAV, and auto.

I am also the President of the local Miata club here in NH, the M'sters Miata club. We are having our 5th Annual Fall Foliage Run tomorrow up north. Check us out if you want: www.mstersmiata.org

my10ae,
I live in Lebanon and picked up my Velocity Red GT on 7/16 from Wellesley Mazda. Where did you buy yours? Talarico?

Are you interested in having an RX-8 drop in on the Fall Foliage Run? If it's OK to show up in something other than a Miata send me the details and we'll meet up tomorrow. :D

Cool, you're from NH. You welcome to join us tomorrow for the run. I would take the 8, but since my fiancee reminded me that I'm the President of the local MIATA club, I should show up in a MIATA Checkout this link for the details for tomorrow: http://www.mstersmiata.org/index.php...n=FFR2003_Incl

PS I did get my 8 from Talarico's since they are the club's sponsor :D

my10ae,
I'm trying to get my ducks in a row for tomorrow's run and noticed on the M'sters website that they suggest bringing a FRS radio. As of right now I don't own one but I'll pick one up tonight.

After a little bit of quick research the Motorolas look nice but I wonder if they will work well with other brands? What would you suggest?

Any 2 mile FRS radio will works with any other brand. I have some cheapo FRS radio's I bought from WalMart for $25/pair. They work well with every other brand.

Hopefully we'll see you tomorrow.

Thanks for the clarification and who should I be looking for tomorrow? I assume I'll be looking for someone in a blue 10th anniversary Miata but how about giving me a name to go with the car?

By the way my name is Roy and I'll be the guy standing out of the crowd in the Arrest Me Red RX8. :p

Nice to meet you Roy. Kevin here. And yes, I'll be in the 10AE Miata with the same plate name as my screen name. Our local dealer will be tagging along with us on the run, he'll be in either a red or yellow 8.

C ya tomorrow!

I appreciate that. However I cant be there. Niece's B-day tomorrow.

I would've really enjoyed those cars though. Not to mention hearing Speed Racer's new exhaust...

(*Homer Simpson voice*..mmmmmmmmm Boooorlaaaa.)

Maybe we can get some RX8 thing together before the snow flies huh guy's? Even if its just a get together/lunch someplace to share ideas and showing off mods! I'll be storing my car starting in December. I would go to NH in a heartbeat. I love it up there.

Wish that you guys had been able to make it to the Fall run. Kevin (my10ae) and the M'sters Miata Club did an excellent job picking a fun route and coordinating everything. Thanks again Kevin!

I believe that 48 cars showed up and two of them were RX-8s. One of them was mine and the other was a dealer demo driven by Jason from Talarico Mazda. It was very cool to see some "official" sponorship of a car club. Mazda even picked up the tab for lunch!

I've been trying to upload some pictures to ImageStation but it is taking forever over a dial up connection. So I'll post a link when it finishes. Until thenhere is a shot of Kevin's Miata with my RX-8 in the background.

Absolutely, I think that we should try to figure out a time and place to meet. Maybe we can drop in on another of the M'sters meets. They seemed liked a good bunch and from what I understand they are thinking about expanding the club to cover all of Mazda's sports cars. If that happens I'd definitely join.

Roy:

It was nice to meeting you on the run. I am gald you could make it. Despite the cool weather, I think everyone had fun on the run. I now know what I'm going to spend my saved pennies on...a Borla for my RX-8. I have one for the Miata and it gave the car a nice burble to it. I love how the Borla sounded on your 8. My first performance mod

Thanks.....:D

One of my co-workers asked me if I wanted to check out Import Wars in Epping, NH this weekend (Sat. 10/25/03). I'll probably go to just get an idea of what other people in the area are doing to modify there cars. If your interested in meeting up at the event let me know. Thanks!

Kevin,
It was great getting a chance to meet you and all of the other Mazda enthusiasts over the weekend. I had a blast hanging out with everyone. Hopefully we can figure out a time when we can get some of the RX-8 enthusiasts together.

I know that your weekends are pretty full with the M'sters Miata Club but do you think you'll have the chance to show off your new RX-8? I'd like to check out your auto and see what that is like. The paddle shifters look pretty cool.

Yeah the club has got my schedule quite busy I'm not avaliable this weekend or the next. We have the Keene Pumpkin Festival we are attending this Sat and the following weekend is our club's monthly meeting. I'm free 11/8 and 11/15.

The Pumpkin Fest sounds like fun but I didn't want to show up at another event without paying the membership dues. It just didn't feel right when you have put so much effort in to arranging all of the meets. So hurry up and add the RX-8 to the club roster.

I'm also free on 11/8 and 11/15 so either day works for me.

Gyro & RPIRX-8,
Are you free on either day?

Kevin,
I noticed that one of the M'sters events is an auto-x. Has the club given any thought to expanding that to include open tracking? It is a relatively safe way to find out what you and your car can really do and it looked like a fair number of the Miatas in the club were already prepped for doing that (4-point roll bar or better and a helmet is required). At your next monthly meeting you may want to bring it up.

The last event that I went to was at Watkins Glen and the NY Integra club made an appearance. They had a cook out for lunch and had a blast out on the track. Seems like something that would be right in-line with the M'sters Miata Club.

The closest track is NH Speedway in Louden, NH and the easiest way to pull this off would be to have the interested members sign up for track time through SCDA and then arrange the rest of the event around that.

Finally registering. Have had my 8 since Aug 03. It's a velocity red/gt/nav/spoiler/6Disc CD. It was purchased from Talarico in Manchester NH. And hibernates in the winter.

Kevin here from Manchester. I have a black red/black GT myself. Haven't seen you around at all. You'll have to checkout a run sometime. BTW... Roy, when's the next gathering?
