I'm in Newton (Auburndale village right where the MassPike and 128 cross). I'm in a Blue 8 mostly driving 128 between masspike and 93 and also driving on masspike between 128 and logan airport. There are a bunch of other owners in mass, vt, and nh. my10ae, speedracer, wasy, spin9k, gyro, and others. Keep an eye out for our next meet. If you want, check out pics from the last meet at http://www.justindotcom.com
Do you guys welcome other cars at your meets. Some of us are still using pistons. We usual invite several boards to our meets because it makes the turnout much better and most everyone is into cars in general not just one type.
Anyways I love the look of the RX-8 but still haven't seen very many of them on the road.

I haven't organized any meets, but if I did, I wouldn't want anything but RX8's.... or it has to be at least rotary powered.

Us 7 owners can dream
Yea unfortunately the 8 is my only car so I have to drive in the winter but on bad days I can usually get a ride to work. So it isn't too bad. I haven't had any problems with scratches or anything yet but I have only owned it for about 3 weeks.
Crosswound, Winning electric blue RX-8 AKA "DUKE"
If your around north eastern MA towards boston let me know. I have a few friends with RX-7's so we could possibly make some plans for the summer.

hey crosswound , you goto china town alot ? I seen a sunlight silver around there a couple times at night and I drive a titanium gray with x man wing (soon to be completely different lol) and I waved at the sunlight silver a couple of times but no response
I dunno if he saw me tho lol
I also always see a sunlight silver parked in Braintree near the convenience store. I think the person works there , no idea who it is though.

To see pics and specs of my rx-8 and a good friends 93 rx-7 R-1 with many mods go to www.marx7.com I'm the first one on the member list. You will see amazing things and there to enjoy.
On driving in winter in Massachusetts --> Yup. Part of why I sold my Miata and bought an RX-8 was to have a reasonable chance of driving it year round. Having a 3rd car just to get through the winter was too expensive.
I have to say that if I can see the snow or ice, the 8 will slide on it. :-) Kind of fun, but makes me wish I had a few extra $$$ to throw on snow tires.
The only problems I've seen crop up when it's real cold. First, the tire pressure light comes on for a few minutes sometimes until I drive far enough to warm things up. Second, the emergency brake doesn't like releasing all the way when it's cold. It settles down once I drive a bit, too. Third, I hear an occassional sharp creaking noise somewhere in the dash when I go over bumps.
All of this is only when it's real cold, less than 10F or so.

yea the winter does kinda make it tough but I got 17" rims with blizak snow tires that seems to help it out some. I also put two sand bags in the trunk trying to weigh it down a bit. Same thing happening with everything your saying about the cold weather with the creeking and emergency brake. As far as the tire pressure light goes I have the smaller rims for now during the winter so it is constantly on because it thinks that I have the 18's on. That light is kind of a nucence in a way to me. If your tire is low you should know anyways.
