Ive been looking through here Ive hardly seen anybody in Virgina.

The Hampton roads thread is the one for virgina if I'm not mistaken. Ive seen more rx8s on base more than anywhere I've been. Idk if all of them are on 8club tho. I'm in Norfolk, VA btw.

If you have a facebook ive made a facebook page for rx8's in VA, its called Rx8 Virginia Chapter. somewhere around 50 people on it so far all over VA lol

Also a club in "Central VA" ... Central Virginia Mazda Club.

joined the facebook one, but the central one looks a lil too far for me

I'm in VA Beach. I'm actually looking to see if there's a track where I can run my car. Not really looking to race, but it would be nice to have some fun with it without worrying about crunching or getting a ticket.

Any car meets out here.... I'm from NY.... gonna be leaving to go back friday

Anyone know of any shops that work on rx8 engine in the western part of virginia?

Virginia International Raceway in Danville - just under 4 hours from here
Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia - I think 4-5 hours
North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR) - about 2 hours

You'll have to search for groups running track day events: NASA, SCCA, Car clubs like Porsche, BMW, Audi, Mustang, Nissan or groups like Track Daze, Chin Motorsports. Porsche and BMW may require memberships (you can use BMW for Porsche) or may not allow non-marque cars in some events. I've done TrackDaze, 1st Settlers Porsche and Zone 2 Porsche and all are very well run.

No tickets at the track, but you can still crunch the car.

Im in richmond/chesterfield,va. Been to the car show in fredricksburg but dont know if it still goes on. Went to one at va beach but only 1 person showed up.

That sounds about right for th Va beach crowd. All the deployments hard to keep a group together. Which is too bad had some good times with those guys.

Just bought my 2004 Brillant Black RX8... I'm in VA beach... car was pretty thrashed when I bought it.. Dealer ended up having to replace the motor... Previous owner put 20" TSW Thruxtons on it.. looks pretty mean but not really my cup of tea.. Trying to find stock rims.. Found 2 need the other two so if anybody knows anyone getting rid of their stocks hit me up on here. They also put two towing hooks in the front.. from what it looks like its welded on to the bumper beam.. I hope not.. but will have to take the bumper off to find out... so all in all I bought it because the motor was rebuilt by Mazda and I slapped and extended warranty on it... its a project.. I've previously owned a 95GST, 97GSX, 350z, 99 Si, MKV GTI and I have to say even in its current condition the 8 has to be one of the funniest cars I have ever driven...

Yeah, I am going to school here at Virginia Tech now. I thought about joining the car club here, but I haven't been to - or heard of - any meetings yet.

Glad I found this, I'm VP of NOVAMAZDA CLUB and we hold a weekly meet EVERY Monday night @ the Hardtimes Cafe in Springfield, VA (6362 Springfield Plaza Springfield, VA 22150). Like our FB closed group and I'll add you, any given night there are 50-100 cars of various makes including us, If you live close come check us out..

Now if someone could organize a meet in the Hampton roads area that would be amazing. I have only had my RX-8 a month but I am looking to get out there with others.

Bristol VA here.. born in socal, raised in va beach, living now in Bristol.. would love to find an active car club anywhere between knoxville TN and Roanoke VA and as far down as Ashville NC.

Finally did a little work to my 8. Im looking to get a meet with some others for a cruise or something.

If any 8 drivers not busy tonight or tmrw night there are car meets in VA beach around 9pm on south Independence blvd freedom Car wash. Usually starts there and then moved to a parking lot near by. Will love to see more 8s there.:rock:

Norfolk here ... Been to a couple of meets out at jenros, but there's always just 1 other 8 out there besides mine. We gotta get together and stunt out!

Bara what issues are you having?

plenty, it broke down within a mile when i bought it from carmax
then i found out the engine was flooded, fuel pump and injection just all went wrong
anyway, it's working good now since I spended few thousand dollars to repair

They should have covered some of it for you since you just bought it. Lots of good info on here to fix everything on the car for a lot cheaper than dealer.

Auto-x this Sunday 4/21 at VMP in Dinwiddie. I'd like to see some more RX8s out there!!

NASA Mid-Atlantic Autocross 2013 » fun with cars and cones

I've run with NASA in my RX8 for the last 5 years now and I've only ever had another RX8 show up ONCE. Even for track weekends, the RX8s are thin... come on guys!

New to racing or have questions, just ask... they're all friendly people or you can even hit me up.

I might check it out....I prob won't enter tho.
