4.2 mile VIR Grand Course HPDE Track Event
4.2 Mile VIR Grand Course HPDE Track Event MazdaDriverS.com - June 12-13, 2010
The only VIR Grand Course weekend event for Automobiles in 2010. Same configuration as Car and Driver's annual Lighting Lap.
With less than 30 spots remaining, the Grand Course at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) provides a chance to drive one of the longest world class road course in North America.
The hard to come by Grand Course at VIR is a technically challenging racetrack, featuring 4.2 miles in length, an incredible 34+ turns with multiple elevation changes in excess of over 600’ in but just one lap.
The Grand Course is literally a roller coaster track with elements of two courses combined, a tight configuration of the Patriot Course and the wide open Full course combined into one. High speed uphill climbing esses, blind drops, cascading rollercoaster spiral downhills, over 34 turns, and many undulations that take years to master.
VIR has consistently been rated as one of the top six road courses in America. A world class race facility to drive.

I've opted for TrackDaze and the NJMP Thunderbolt course that weekend, but am contemplating the 'Daze event later this year that brings VIR Full on the first day, the Grand East on the second day.
If it wasn't for Thunderbolt, I'd be there for two Lightning Yellows confusing the corner workers...

Running the Grand Course again was a blast. Great event!
Check www.trackpedia.com; there are some great tracks near you. You've got Monticello, Lime Rock, New Hampshire Speedway within reasonable distance.
Track Daze would be nice, but I really don't want to take off work for DE's if I can help it. I might try the Audi event in November, FSR Porsche in September. We have family vacation during the next MazdaDrivers event.
