Yeah its an auto. Actually I went to the dealership for an mr2 but ended up leaving with an auto 8. Haha it was an a choice for a subprime loan though. It was intended to be a project anyway so I made an exception on the auto. I like 5 speeds best anyway.

the 5spd wasnt offered in the states, we have a 6spd. there is a 5spd 8 in europe and i think in japan in the early autos

 

You can get 5speeds already imported for cheap. The pcm is available too. Seems decently striaght forward. They are both 4ports after all. Anyway it would be nice.

 

5spd Tran works fine with the 4 port ecu. You just need to suppress the TCM cel.

 

Hey shelldude in the future could I perhaps ask you some questions about the swap? Im pretty serious about doin a swap once the car is paid off. Cant find any rock solid details just bits and pieces like in brettus's thread. I miss having a clutch :/.

You should have gotten the MR2!! Well as long as it was a 93-95 turbo and not the chick spyder. Lol And I am one of the few 8 owners that could talk your ear off on owning MR2s if you are ever bored.

I am going but unfortunately not bringing my 8. I have to cart a dog up there and I don't want my trailer queen leather interior all scratched up.
