aem/mazdaspeed or dont bother with the intake(stock it pretty good), exhaust pipe cat/midpipe is only way to gain like 1.5hp  the catback is just which do you think sounds better

as for wheels I like the stock look so I just use a wider tire

thanks. My boy is insisting on hooking up my car saying "friends don't let friends drive stock" haha but I don't want to waste my time on an "upgrade" that's not even noticeably lol. So yeah I just saw some wheels I really like. If I go bigger I wouldn't go too big though... and that's my issue with the cat..I don't want too much noise ..picky picky picky

Blue, at some point, if you are still in the area, I'll have a BHR midpipe on my 8 again, and you can see how you like that sound. It is only faintly louder than stock, and a bit deeper. Still all the flame throwing, catless odor, slightly more powerful ... glory. :)

sonicsdaman 04-17-2015 03:08 PM

will it still have a stock catback?
+1 on bhr midpipe

Sounds Good :) Youtube Videos aren't the best to base my purchases on :lol2:

Probably initially, though I'd like to get a Borla on it at some point. Getting catless is more important to me than dealing with the catback.

Like i said before everyone, i fully understand schedules being crammed full of stuff.

As far as im concerned this can be pushed to the end of May, beginning of June, whatever works for everyone else.

As long as i have a few days notice i can take a personal day if i dont have off already.

Im bored @ work..... Guess i should head over there huh...

ShellDude 04-17-2015 07:34 PM

you can test me Williard.

I've got a couple other projects outstanding. Can fit in one or all of the below:
  • Replace front door amps
  • Install puddle lights
  • Install my new headlight housings
  • Install my new foglight housings
  • Swap my steering wheel
  • Install new front rotors, pads, and calipers

Sad part is I have all the hardware, but haven't found the time. Projects keep piling up.

Williard 04-17-2015 07:36 PM

I'm sorry Shell but until you spell my name right I can't test your 8..

:)

Travis

ShellDude 04-17-2015 07:42 PM

RIWWP 04-17-2015 07:44 PM

It's easier to spell Willard...

T-R-A-V-I-S.

I get it right every time.

Williard 04-17-2015 07:49 PM

It's normally because people think of "willard" the rat guy.

Mine is Williard< Last name

Believe it or not they are not pronounced the same either.

But yea, Travis is easier for most people Mike lol.

Yup,

Didn't make the connection.

Thanks Mike.

I'm working in the garage before work, probably how I missed it. Too focused :)

If $$$ isn't too big of an issue I can recommend the BHR mid pipe. It has a very mild note. Hands down the best aftermarket mid pipe available to us.

Still working on the exhaust myself.. hard time deciding.
I also <3 my stock wheels
BHR ignition is amazing, love that thing too.
Can't remember what else I did.. lol
Research the shit out of the forums here before you touch anything, seriously. Best place for reliable info on upgrading an 8. Just make sure you sort carefully through who kknows what they're talking about and who's just full of it.

Thank you so much for the info. :) def. Research is important

BlueHoney 04-18-2015 02:48 PM

Thanks guys lol sorry i just made a comment about my 8 being all stock :)

Williard 04-18-2015 03:48 PM

Blue,

No need to say sorry for anything. You'll get there :)

Some keep it stock.

Personally i prefer to MOD.

Keep reading, keep learning and if you get stuck there are several people just within this thread you could PM for sound advice.

Travis

ShellDude 04-18-2015 04:04 PM

beyond the body itself there isn't much left stock at all on mine

Williard 04-18-2015 04:50 PM

With everything I have coming yet plus all the parts in my garage. I'm in the same boat Shell. Almost everything has been changed in some way..Still need a CF hood...

So yea, body's stock for now..
