06/22 - N. NJ BBQ Meet - Lyndhurst
Well, since this past BBQ went off perfectly we are going to try it again in two weeks. Here is all the information for the BBQ
Date: June 22nd, 2008 starting at 2pm until Sunset
Place: Riverside Park (first one off of Rt3) - Lyndhurst NJ (see map below)
If you are planning on attending the BBQ - please make sure to bring $5 to the next Tuesday night meet and give it to Kel who has been forced into the treasurer role for the event.
If you cannot make it to the Tuesday meet, please make sure to bring around $5 worth of food to the meet to share. DO NOT BRING MONEY TO THE MEET. If you bring money we will direct you to the closest supermarket to go buy food.
The park ended up being a great spot. The area we were at had a huge parking lot, a dog park across the street, bocci ball courts, baseball fields, a jungle gym area and a ton of space to play around at. Next time make sure to bring some stuff to do. In case it rains, there is a pavilion area right there two that would allow everyone to still enjoy themselves.
Here is a map of the area: The park we go to is the top most one closest to Route 3.
Here is the park in relation to the Starbucks meet spot.
Also - due to the recent storm damage to some member's cars we will be starting a fund to help them get fixed and back on the road. The money will go to who needs it most and then down the line to get everyone fixed. If you cannot donate money, your time and help would be appreciated as well. Donations will be taken at the meet.

Depends on who you have. Some companies can cut a check quickly if you are a long term customer. I have Liberty Mutual and they will pay the shop directly if they are approved.

Yeah um about that my insurance company - TSC Direct - is actually not renewing my policy due to the fact that they don't insure RX-8's fromt he last conversatin I had w/them. I have to get new insurance in July.
So long term with them not at all maybe 1 1/2-2 years I think.
And yeah I dont think I'll be at this coming BBQ cause the 8 will be @ Kenny's most likely. But I want to leave the option of maybe showing up.

if you sign over the power of attorney to the shop the insurance company has to cut the check directly to them.....regardless of long term or not....trust me i was just in this situation a few weeks ago with my wifes rav4

do you have AAA? If so, call them and they give you dirt cheap insurance with great service. They will even give you insurance at the adjusted value of your car. I will be going with them in the near future as they are valuing my 7 at 25k at the same rate I am paying now with liberty mutual.

Unfortunately I wont be able to attend this BBQ. Considering how things have gone with me lately I have decided to go on a week long cruise. Have fun all and take a ton of pictures!!!
