The rx duino is really cool. Turned the upper display into a engine monitor more or less. Not sure if the guy makes them anymore. You use the cruise control buttons to scroll through engine rpm, af ratio, tire pressure , etc...

I just picked this car up from Tennessee on Tuesday, may be selling the wheels and Fortune Auto 500 coilovers off of it come spring if any of you guys are interested just hit me up. But this is going to be my new project RX8, the Velocity Red Mica will be kept nice and OEM because it's in great shape. This one is kinda beat up with a blown engine, so a perfect time attack project.

Any of the Racine/Kenosha/Milwaukee guys ever want to meet up this year hit me up. I will have some projects to work on with the 2 cars at my house always game to have a few local owners to hang out with. Work won't be starting until March more than likely.

My 8s are parked for the off season but we can always chill sometime.

If I had the money, I think the rims are clean looking and would like to replace the stock ones for summer. What size (rims and tires)? How much are you looking to get rid of them for ... just to tease myself, doubt I can come up with the cash, spent all my tax return on stuff for the car and my kids already lol!

I hope to be in a position to have a 2nd 8 one day already have plans for it, because I'm going to keep my Copper Red Shinka mostly oem for similar reasons (outside the led replacement bulbs, other minor stuff). White definitely looks nice,

So whom of you guys has the Silver RX8 here in Racine with the GIGANTIC *** wing and nothing else really done to the car? LOL! Thing looks ridiculous!

Also ran passed someone at Taco Bell on Washington here in Racine about a week ago. Driving threw the Taco Bell drive-thru in a black one?

Hey Fatnnerdy, glad to see you have joined the RX club. If you want to get together with bunch of other rotor heads, plan to come to Road America for the IMSA race the weekend August 2-4. The RX Club of Wisconsin sponsors a corral at the track and we all get together to have a good time. Check out the Club site for details. BTW, I'm also in Waukesha and have a 2004 VR. Search for glassetcher to see some of the pics I have posted over the years. Hope to see you at RA!

How strong is the RX8 scene in Wisconsin?

I don't have one yet (looked at quite a few so far but none that passed compression test / other issues) but hoping to join you guys soon. If anyone knows of any good ones in the area let me know, though at this point may just buy a poor compression S2 and throw a reman in. Not certain if I want to have a project for that long though....

I see a few rotaries at the autocross events and track days. I have a red R3 with a fresh reman engine with probably 6k on it that I'm thinking about selling. BHR ignition, BHR midpipe, and some other small upgrades. Part of me wants to keep it forever, part of me wants to move on to my next auto adventure. If you're in Milwaukee or Madison, maybe we should talk.

Definitely, I'm living in Watertown. Sounds like a great car, where did you get the reman done?

There is a small handful of us right in the Waukesha county & surrounding area on this site. I see one about every other month during the summer on 16 or 94. The ones that aren't summer cars are rusted pretty good at this point.

It's a Mazda factory refurb. It failed a compression test just before the 8 year extended factory warranty was up.

Hey Kimura, you are probably right that there are a number of RX8s that are rusted pretty good. That just means the owner didn't take very good care of them. Mine is a 2004 that was used as a daily driver for 10 years summer and winter. The last few years I have been able to keep her out of the winter dregs since I am retired and, with the current situation keeping me at home more, just did a clay bar and surface treatment to get her back in shape.

Very nice! I am glad to hear you managed to keep it rust free for that long despite the winter mileage. Lately I've been putting on a lot of miles in this amazing weather despite having nowhere to go!

I just scored this very clean RX8 last week. I’m new to the forum, the RX8 scene and the state of Wisconsin. I’ve owned two different turbocharged track prepped Miatas and a speed3 and have always kept my eye out for a nice RX8. This one has 78k miles, zero rust and good compression. I’m looking forward to exploring my new state in my new ride and hope to see some of you at an autocross or track day.
