Does Springfield count as around Champaign?

 

I'm located north of springfield i go down to visit friends, we have like 6 rx8s up here in small town sedalia

Isn't everything south of I-80 southern Illinois? (just kidding)
There have been owners in Springfield, Champaign, Peoria and Bloomington area that have been on here over the years. Some have come up to meet us in the Chicago. Some of us went down to Bloomington to help an owner add a turbo to his car.
I think people, from the area, get discouraged by the lack of activity and leave. If you do start a lounge in this section and remain active, the number of owners will slowly grow.
The Chicago group grew big enough to go off and form it's own website and forum.

 

I just wanted to say I'm a central Illinois owner from Peoria. I don't see very many of them around this area, but there are a few. I have a 2004 model year.

Red R1 going down rout 6 between Knoxville and 29.

Black Series 2 with rear fog light near Shops of Grand Prairie now and then

I cant be the only person in Peoria on this forum. LOL

 

Brand new R3 (well, new to me, it's an '09 Between Peoria and Champaign.

 

I have a 2011 Red RX-8 R3 (Series 2), I can be see frequently driving up knoxville and on Route 6 in Peoria.

The Champaign County sports car club have a lot of autocross events, I try to make it out every other month or so.

Planning on doing a few Black Hawk Farms and Autobahn N/S track events this summer.

I would also like to do a few meet and greet event at different places in Peoria / East Peoria.

There is also a White RX8 that i pass sometimes going down the hill form Knoxville towards the CAT plants.

 

I just set it up as a group you should be able to join it.

Hey fellas, I just moved to Urbana a few months ago with my '04 BB. Don't know too many people yet so I'm keen for a meet. Especially since I'm living in a crappy apartment with nowhere to even do basic maintenance on the poor car. I'm looking for work in the Champaign area too if anyone knows of anything.

I went to one CCSCC meeting and everybody was really welcoming. I can't wait for events to start when the weather clears.

As for the car it's an '04 Brilliant Black that just crossed 100k mi today. I've got TEIN springs, Racing Beat cat-back, and whiteline sways installed. I took off my RP cat and Racing Beat Intake for California emissions so they need to go back on now. The car sat for the last 2.5 years so it needs a little TLC in the spring.
