Went out for lunch and a red 8 drove past me going to opposite direction. I couldn't believe it. The dealer here in Schaumburg, IL is only a couple of blocks away and the car had dealer plates so I have no idea if it is a pre-sold car or what. Very cool to see one on the road though. Looked great!!

I'm not sure quite yet. I am a fan of the RX-8 but I will probably wait for the initial cars to come in and see how people react to them. I have never been the kind of person that needed to be the first to have the newest car so I can sit back and wait a while. I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 8 though. I hope it does well.

I got mine from Pugi Mazda, I wonder if they have any of theirs yet. I'm not expecting mine until August though.

Ordered mine from biggers mazda in elgin IL . I doubt the car came from there. my salesman told me they wont see the 8 for a couple weeks. My build date was June 18. I wont see mine until mid. august. Its on the water..cant wait to see one on the road.

Looks like we're boat buddies. Since we have no chance of getting the cars around the same time everyone else, we'll have to see who takes delivery first between us. When did you order yours?

Ordered mine in the middle of april..Winning blue 6spd sport pkg. by the way, where is pugi mazda? what state? were you givin the same delivery date,mid aug.? As soon as anyone knows of a dealer with an 8 in IL please post here so I can go and see it..

I ordered mine in March and have the same build date as you. Pugi is in Downers Grove, IL. Its a western suburb. Haven't you ever heard the annoying Pugi car commercials on the radio. They keep repeating Pugi, over and over again in a weird voice. Anyway. My dealer told me to expect it possibly end of this month, or early to mid august. I am guessing its going to be mid august. From what I hear, 2 months from a build date is the average. I've been told that the shipment is on the water and August is the estimated arrival time. I ordered a red, GT with the red and black leather.

I ordered mine from Bill Jacobs in Aurora. Kinding of getting the run around, ordered in early April, they tell me it will be here in mid-August, but they have changed the date a number of times. Silver with black leather.

i believe the car that u saw was the pre-production red 8 being toted around the country as part of the "rx8 live" tour. i saw it roll by on grand ave. in chicago, thurs. july 3rd while waiting in line to get into the funky buddha lounge.

are u sure the plates weren't manufacturer plates? the 8 i saw had the same type of plates shown in that pic...in fact, i wouldn't doubt it was the same exact car.
