RX-7 Owners?
Any RX-7 owners out there? If so, are there any rotary engine specialty shops in the St Louis area where we will be able to take our RX-8s (just in case we don't get that warm, fuzzy feeling from our Mazda dealers)?

Don't know of any rotary-specialty shops in St. Louis.
I have a RX-7, and have had my car out to Bommarito in St. Peter's a couple of times. I didn't really get a warm fuzzy that they were rotary experts, but the experiences have not been horrible either. One time I took it and they tried to sell me an $800 air control valve because my car was not passing emissions, and I brought it back home without letting them fix it and found that it was a wiring problem that I spent about 6 hours tracking down. Fixed for free at home.
The second time I took the 7 out to them they were able to diagnose the problem right away....which was a half-working fuel pump.
I have had my Millenia there a couple of times to have some things fixed under warranty, and was pretty impressed with their service. They are very good about getting you in quick and having your car done when they say they will. They're pretty friendly, and take the time to explain what they had to do.
Unless there are major mechanical problems with the innards of the engine, troubleshooting and fixing a problem on a rotary is not much different than a piston engine. Sensors going bad, or other electrical component failures will be no different to diagnose and fix than any other car.
I've heard somebody mention that Lou Fusz Mazda has a really good rotary guy. Don't know for sure though.

I use to take my wife's Protege to Bommarito for service. Very pleased with their service department as a whole.
It's good to hear that Lou Fusz may have a good rotary guy. That's where I'm getting my car, so I'll ask around when I pick it up. Listen to me, I sound like this is really going to happen some day.
