RC3 Update!

I almost forgot about you guys. Gotta slap me around sometimes. :D

Copy and pasted from the email I sent. PM me if you're not on the mailing list and I'll add you. In addition, you will get benefits. $10 off RR.

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope that everyone had a good time this year. Now that all the fun is done and over with, guess it’s time to get back to business. Well, in this case, it’s always fun.

So with the new year brings new changes. Our new home on the web will be chicagorotary.com. Look to see that launch sometime in March. Our local rotary gurus at A-Spec Tuning will be moving into their new home in Schaumburg. New types of meets and general get togethers will be happening as well. And I’ll have a new transmission. J

Whether it was because it was late in the year or not I can’t say, but a dedicated track event for ’05 for us isn’t looking as well as previously thought. But not to fret. There are several other local clubs, such as Northern Ray’s Corvette Club that perpetually has track events at Gingerman that we could piggyback with. I’m going to be looking at Blackhawk as well. Plus, with the lapping at IRP and Road America for the Rotary Revolution and the Midwest Rotary Rally respectively, for the average 7 owner, you’ll get your fill.

There have been several requests for me to have a party. So ok ok ok. Sometime in February I’ll put something together. Hope you all don’t mind an Indiana trip.

Just for preemptive measures since time seems to never slow down, a reminder that registration for the Revolution is in full swing. The weekend of April 22th is what you want to leave open for that. The Wisconsin club wants to meet with us for a huge caravan for the trip down. I don’t know when they had planned on leaving, but I’ll be sure to get that and pass it on to you. If anyone is planning on leaving that Friday, please let me know as that’s my intention of leaving. I know other work commitments may not allow this for some, but not to worry. There will be a large contingent leaving that night, so not to worry.

As I have mentioned before, in my attempt to get more organized, I am going to be working with Greg Orman from the WI club to help me get things going. From figuring out a dues system to becoming a non-profit organization. This will help in reducing costs for events and whatnot and to make things more enjoyable all around. I have received input from some of you and appreciate it. Everything that has been mentioned is valuable. Since this has never been done by yours truly, I’m very open to suggestions and comments that you think could help bring everyone together and make it interesting for them. The turnout at the A-Spec BBQ in September was exactly the thing to kick off a new era for Chicago.

So with all this coming on here, I hope that you all will be as excited as I am to partake in it. I’m looking forward to a great year.
